You seem to be a reasonable person, in spite of the exposure you’ve had to left wing media organizations … a leveled headed Jew, I’d say with all due respect.

Just consider this … it’s IS Racial but not Racist. I wish it were different.

Blacks and their role in America. Look around the country. Look around the entire Planet. What civilized country has had to deal with some much hand holding, some much placating, so much compromise, and such a long free ride as America has had to do with blacks. You ‘curve grades” to help them, you compromise the rules to give them work, you lower expectations to accommodate inferior performance, and now we let them be President, and they still play the race card, they’re still on their knees, and in addition to all that this country has to bear … they will be our downfall. No other country on the planet would allow this. No other country would shoot themselves in the head so many times. I wish it were different. I wish they would drop the “Afro” preference, find their true identity and join hands with the rest of America and make this a better place.

In the late 80’s, thousands of Vietnamese came to our shores. We had killed at least one member of every family in that country just a few years prior … they had EVERY REASON TO HATE. But, they came, they saw a beautiful country, filled with caring people and abundant opportunity, and they took it. Never to be heard from again … they just live, contribute and enjoy. They blew by the blacks, and showed their cause and constant complaint for what it actually is, innate deficiencies … they just are not capable of any more. The Peter Principle would be a polite way of tip-toeing around this possibility.

I’ll say it again … I WISH IT WERE DIFFERENT. It just seems that, as much as we wish and as hard as we try, they just don’t seem to get it. They act like they are just “renting” and don’t have to mow the lawn or pick up the trash.

Strange World we made for ourselves.

  • L. Haydon

Berne: It appears nobody knows who made the racial remarks as the black represenatives were going in to vote on the health care issue. Could they have been made by SEIU THUGS or a Democrat Party plant?

I am old newsman, retired from it all a couple of years back. A reporter, photog, pilot, producer, satellite technichian. I have done it all and a lot at the network level, including CBS, as a freelance satellite truck owner and operator. In fact for a number of years my crew and I did the CBS early show and evening news on a number of occasions. So, like you I speak from experience.

I saw the tide turning in news several years back and and began to work my way out of the reporter side into the self employed side.

It is a shame what the business has come to. Tonight I saw your interview with O’Rielly on he direction that nightly news has taken. I have had that same conversation on many occasions with a buddy who also left the business just in time.

They can play the blame game but they have no one to blame but themselves. Like you said they have failed to keep up. It is the same now as it was 30 years ago. People are also tired of is their leftist agenda. News is not the only issue, problems persist throughout the industry.

I just wanted to vent my thoughts to someone who thinks like I. Also, my wife doesn’t think that I am nuts any more, when I watch a commercial and then say “What were they selling”?. You got me off the hook on that one when you said the same thing right after the super bowl.

Keep up the good work and I hope Olbermann goes soon.

By the way, http://www.raivreport.com is mine. Raiv is Viar spelled in reverse.

  • KathyK

    Good job Bernie!

This Q & A deserves your high exposure.

Hoped to find the scene from 70’s movie “Airplane” at YouTube [no luck] where armed Arab looking actors passed through security while (what appeared to be) a 90-year old actress was being manhandled by U.S.A airport security officers. It was a funny scene back then but realistically terrifying today.

Love to see that scene go web-viral with the “Case for Profiling.”

  • Ted Kalal

Back when Golda Meir was the Prime Minister of Israel there were a lot of rapes and molestations there after dark (emphasis, after dark). The Israelis made a law that established a curfew after dark for males, the main profile of the ones committing these crimes.

    Hmmm . . . Gives me a thought.

If we didn’t allow any Muslims on an airplane period, I bet those “good” Muslims would reconsider staying quiet about their knowledge of what they knew about their fellow Muslim terrorist wannabees.

This would perhaps remove or at least considerably reduce the potential for airplane related terrorist attacks. Of course, those clever terrorists would pick new targets and we would be off again “trying” to fix those new problems. Sooner or later either all the Muslims would become terrorists or they would begin to emerge as our partners in stopping terrorism. My money is on the later.

    • Negev

What on earth are you talking about? I used to live in Israel during those times and there was no such curfew.
I do sympathize with what Mr Goldberg is pointing out, but please do it with the right data andprinciple: while profiling works in Israel nowdays, it’s never enough. Once muslims will be profiled, they’ll start using women, children, fair skinned prople and the likes. We’ve seen it all. Again, I’m all for profiling as it make a lot of sence, but keep in mind that it’s never enough.

  • http://ellievellie.wordpress.com Ellie

US should require everybody who applies for US visa from Arab countries to get a clearance from the country’s ministry of foreign affairs. That way we can keep the Arab countries responsible for the folks that are visiting US. That will stimulate them to clean up their own mess. US don’t have to worry about who is coming from China. The communist there do the background checks for us. We have to make sure the Arabs take part and responsibility in the visa vetting process.

  • VectorSpaceMan

Mandatory reading for the Democrat Party leaders.

This is Terrorism 101, class…TSA will go broke and nobody will fly if we don’t profile, NOW!

Next Stop, America- the mosques, the prisons, and even the MSA. We can no longer afford to only send our soldiers to their battlefied. Not after Fort Hood.

They want to kill us, we’ll kill them. Bring it on. We WILL accomplish this mission!!!

I smoke a little bud, I’ve got some problems, but I don’t blow up either myself or airplanes, Bernie. I don’t hate Muslims, but I hate anybody who tries to destroy somebody else’s body, whether it’s in the streets of Miami being burned alive or shot for a classic Chevy in South Central…

The President and his Attorney General are very wrong and will hurt and cause more Americans to be killed my young, male Muslim extremists.

Why a Muslim could be offended by profiling of Muslims? Muslim profiling does not imply that we thing that all Muslims are terrorists. It only implies that we think that there is a group inside Muslim community that are terrorists. So Muslims, who claim that they are offended by profiling are offended by a mere idea that among Muslims could be terrorists. But we know and they know that there are terrorists among Muslims. For this reason I suggest that Muslims, who claim that they are offended by profiling are lairs. They know very well that that there are terrorists among Muslims, but want us to think otherwise.

  • http://tdolan56@winco.net thomas dolan

it seems there may be a common thread. na can’t be!

  • http://theclosetconservative.com The Closet Conservative

I have a German last name. (I’m only about 1/8 German but please bear with me.) If I was traveling during World War II by train, ship, or plane, I might expect to be questioned by officials as to the nature of my trip. Obviously not all Germans were Nazis, but with few exceptions, all Nazis were German. I would not have been offended at being questioned, and if I was, so what. The ACLU would probably not risen to defend me. Flash forward to modern times, as Bernie so well demonstrated, the profile happens to fit. Muslim males roughly between the late teens and early 40’s have always been the ones to commit these kinds of acts. So you think maybe we can take a closer look at them? That is as opposed to wanding and frisking my 90 year old blond haired blue eyed grandmother.

  • http://www.theanticrat.com Xian Do

    Just a small note:
Did you ever notice that the same group of people who demand that we avoid lumping ALL Muslims in with terrorists are the same people who are quite willing to lump ALL Pro-Life Advocates (and ALL Christians in general) in with the likes of Scott Roeder or Michael F. Griffin?

    Just sayin’, is all.

  • Kathie Ampela

My argument is, if you having nothing to hide, then there is no problem being profiled. And for the safety of all of us, I think it’s absolutely necessary.

    • http://www.bartcop.com/ Wil Burns

Okay Kathie, Lets put a video camera in every room of you house and watch you constantly. Hey, if you have to hide, then there is no problem, right? And for the safety of all of us, I think it’s absolutely necessary. Ridiculous, I know, but so is your nothing to hide nonsense. It is a shame how much freedoms, you people will give up, to be a little safe!

      • Kathie Ampela

First of all, Wil, having almost been killed by Islamic terrorists on 9/11/01, I find your post to be extremely offensive. I’m so glad that you’ve taken it upon yourself to be so reckless with myself and my 3 year old son’s safety. When you take a bus one morning to go to work and have one of the tallest buildings in the world nearly collapse on top of it because some Islamic terrorist that you’ve never met thinks he’s on a holy mission, you let me how you feel about profiling at the airport. I do apologize, however, about not clarifying my post. I meant profiling at the airport, not my house. The last I checked, I didn’t have any possible terrorists in my house with me.

        • Truth Speaker

          Amen to you Kathie,
I have a friend who barely escaped tower 2 with his life. He saw unspeakable things that day and has trouble sleeping still. We recently went on a golf trip down south and HE was pulled out of line at Logan to be wanded and patted down–Mind you Johnny Towel head and his whole crew of terror squad was allowed to pass untouched. I thought my boy was gonna flip his shit. He looks nothing like a terrorist, and the free-passers obviously had 5 pounds of C4 under their Ali Baba gear.
WAKE UP people, political corrctness is CRIPPLING America. The muslim terrorists are laughing at us and using OUR LAWS to protect their scumbag asses.
Are all Muslims terrorists, no–but so far ALL TERRORISTS HAVE BEEN MUSLIM

  • Tom Rapp

I’m not a fan of this kind of thing. Lee Harvey Oswald, Timothy McVey, John Hinckley Jr., Bill Ayres, need I go on? Scrutiny should be given to anyone entering from outside the U.S., to anyone behaving suspiciously, and to all men under 60. If I have to be inconvenienced for everyone’s safety, so be it.

    • Mark

Yes, you should go on with the list of names…but wait. You can’t, because that is just about where the list ends. Let’s list all the terrorist who are from Muslim descent, now shall we? As Bernie’s little quiz shows, the list is extensive. Plus we have confirmation from these Muslim extremists THEMSELVES that they are intent on killing Americans and seem to favor using our own airplanes as weapons.

Tom, you know that “inconveniencing” 8-year old cub scouts, marine soldiers and grandmothers in the airport security lines is NOT making anyone safer. It is ridiculous.

      • Tom Rapp

Well, I certainly acknowledge that what precisely “inconveniencing” means is very significant. I hope that the process itself can be made as unintrusive as possible. But while I am always suspicious of the intentions of grandmothers and cub scouts, they don’t fall into my criteria apart from possibly coming in from outside the US.

The list certainly does go on. Columbine, Virgina Tech,.. Men are the most likely to commit violent crime. No, I can’t say that I’d include a uniformed Marine, but unless it’s that obvious, it becomes a difficult thing to judge, which is why I’d refrain from profiling too much. Any black person, or dark-skinned Indian, Italian, or whoever might “look” like a potential Muslim. Meanwhile, any white or Asian crackpot could join the terrorists, or use it as an excuse to take out their frustrations against the world.

It’s a sad time we live in. I’m still open to reconsidering my position, but I’m very leery of judging the book by its cover.

        • Mark

You are correct in that a person from any ethnic background and age can commit a crime — I don’t think anyone would dispute you on that. However, it is a fact that Muslim extremists are intent on using our airplanes as weapons against Americans. They have boasted about this fact, they have taken action to carry out these plans, they have succeeded with these plans on several horrible occasions, and they have proudly taken credit for them.

How many American teenagers have tried to seize control of airplanes or plant bombs on them? How many white men or “crackpot” Asian men? …Exactly. Nada.

So in light of Muslim extremists who are actually TELLING us they are out to get us, doesn’t it make sense to give a closer check to people who are of the same descent? (BTW, their names would differentiate them from Italians and other dark skinned men). It does NOT make sense to screen everyone as if everyone is an equal risk factor — and as Bernie said, if blond Swedish women (or teenagers, white men, Asian “crackpots”) begin bombing our planes, then we should add them to the list of potential threats. But that hasn’t happened yet.

True story about the Marine being asked to disrobe from his uniform and be additionally screened. Also true about the 8-year old cub scout who is on a “watch list” and routinely gets patted down at security. It is ridiculous!

          • Tom Rapp

I should have worded my crackpot sentence better. That wasn’t intended for Asian people, but for whites also, or any other non-Muslim. I apologize if anyone took offense.

I hear you Mark, but we’re going to go round and round on this. I can only talk generalities for so long before I want to roll up my sleeves and do the work. I do feel very confident that if you and I sat down and went over the procedures involved in airport security, that we could come to a meeting of the minds on how to help to streamline the process in a way that would save time and protect lives.

  • http://danfugate.blogspot.com Dan Fugate

Another interesting post, Mr. Goldberg. A little less time spent on harassing grandma and more time checking Muslim men between 17 and 40 and we’d have fewer of these questions for your list.

  • Ted Kalal

Lots of people (of many religions) hate us. It’s those pesky Muslims that go too far.

It’s too bad it’s impossible to ask those who were killer or maimed by these terrorists what they think about profiling.

  • John Oines

Your absurdity to demonstrate our political correctness is great.

  • 22Minutes

You don’t need the descriptor “extremist”.. it’s still an effective screen without it..

As I posted last week, it’s terrorist profiling. It’s how adults protect themselves.

  • Buz Chertok

According to the prevalent rules, all potential passengers are to be looked at in detail before being permitted to board an airplane. No exceptions. However, in the press of business, inevitably the process get sloppy. It would not be considered profiling if all moslem people between the ages of 17 and 40 triggered a change of inspector taken from a particularly sharp group that is on duty at airports at all times. No special examination or interrogation just the simple introduction of a fresh, well qualified operator to perform the standard requisite tests on this specific group of people whose numbers constituted every known terroristic act to date. This maneuver would greatly heighten the probability of uncovering any fiendish intentions.

  • http://www.bartcop.com/ Wil Burns

Okay Bernie, We get it. We should all hate Muslim males between the ages of 17 and 40. How about liberals, you seem to hate them too. Is there any one else you want us to hate? Gays, blacks, Latinos etc. I’ll bet another hate book is just about ready for publishing from you. Right?

    • Clegg

Bernie doesn’t say anything about hating Muslims. He doesn’t hate them any more than rental car companies hate people under the age of 25. But in both cases there is a demographic group the represents an elevated risk of a certain kind. So, your odd comment about hating Muslims, gays, blacks, latinos etc is entirely off the mark.

Perhaps you think the costs of profiling Muslims outweigh the benefits. If so, let’s hear why. Try to engage Bernie on the merits. Also, pay close attention. Bernie did not author this quiz. He merely passed it on to us, asking us to decide if it effectively makes a case for profiling. I think it’s effective, but you don’t. Why not, Wil? Make a case. I won’t speak for everyone, but I know I’m willing to hear you out. Do try to be respectful, though. Your comments to Bernie above and to Sommers below lack that most essential component of fruitful debate and discourse: respectful civility.

    • Anonymous

I agree wholeheartedly with you Clegg. Wil, your conclusions are not based on evidence, in this case, you are merely demonstrating your own narrow minded liberal point of view. By all means contribute, but make it worthwhile for the group and not just for yourself. And be kind.

    • Jeff

On the contrary, you never get it. Apparently something has rendered you incapable of comprehending a rational point, let alone making one.

Now go away–the grown-ups are talking.

      • joel o’connor

ok grown up Jeff!! HA HA!! Nice formula, put someone down, say somthing witty and then call “yourself” an adult. I guess all thats left is for us bobble heads to just agree and say, “rabbel, rabbel, we are adults, rabbel, rabbel,” and put our pants up by our belt loops. HA HA!!

It is a rational point though Jeff. But first, lets pull aside white people and check their computers for kiddy porn. Oh, but its a bit different when you yourself are singled out of a “race” of people and checked discriminately for crimes. Its different when the tables are turned.

I got a question….has anyone asked someone from the muslim community what they think about this??

        • Stephen Shields Springfield, IL

Did anyone ask white southern racists about lynching black people in the 50’s? Every race has a convicted sexual offender. What other race hops on planes and blows them up? No one is suggesting that Islam is bad or Muslims are bad, but unfortuantely a few bad apples have ruined it for the whole bunch.

          • Henry

While all the terrorists just happen to be Muslim, not all Muslims are terrorists, right? I’m just merely echoing your sentiment of how “a few bad apples have ruined it for the whole bunch”.

        • Jeff

Evidently you aren’t aware of my previous attempts to have a discussion with Wil around here. Wil’s problem isn’t that he disagrees, it’s that he doesn’t back up his argument. When your only response to challenging questions is either a quick exit or immature pettiness, you get treated like a child.

If I happen to match a group that perpetrates the overwhelming majority of a certain class of offenses/crimes or terrorist attacks, then I hope to God I get profiled. If someone finds it more important that he be treated with PC sensitivity than the safety of thousands be secured, then he’s got a warped set of priorities.

I was talking with a Muslim co-worker after Private Long got shot last year, and his suggestion to make it harder for Jihadists to perpetrate terrorist attacks was, verbatim: “pay closer attention to Muslims.”
In light of what happened at Ft. Hood and on Christmas, do you think paying closer attention to the Muslims might’ve helped?

          • http://www.theanticrat.com Xian Do

            With all due respect, Jeff…
Your first mistake is when you said this:

“…Evidently you aren’t aware of my previous attempts to have a discussion with Wil around here…”

Wil Burns is a troll…a smug, immature, narcissistic, hate-filled pathetic troll.
You will never…and I mean NEVER…have a discussion with Wil because he cannot, and will not, provide a civil presentation of his viewpoint.
Wil does not provide even a remotely respectable dissenting view.

As much as I would love to see some polite back-and-forth regarding certain subject matter…seeking appropriate counterpoints from him is an effort in futility.

All he ever does is log on to this site, leave a useless antagonistic comment, then flee.
            Wil is a name-caller, a parasite, and a child.
In fact, if I didn’t know better, I would’ve suspected that “Wil Burns” is nothing more than the secret ID of a ‘site admin’ concocting false commentary in the hopes of stirring the proverbial pot around here.

And I tip my hat in respect to Mr. Goldberg & Co. that they still haven’t banned this puke from this site.

            Okay…rant over.

          • Jeff

No argument from me on Wil.

Just chalk it up to a little youthful idealism on my part. Naive as it might be, I can’t help but hope that somewhere out there is a stubborn liberal who gets mugged by reality.
Whether it is as mundane as going on forums and eventually growing unhappy with his inability to argue his beliefs on the merits, or as profound as seeing the liberal hero he voted for become a 1st-rate failure (God forbid!), some conservative fantasies, like the notion that a partisan lib learns a little introspection, may be worth indulging in.

At the very least, trolls do serve the purpose of being just one of the many reasons a conservative like me remains proud of his political views.

Thanks, and consider your rant respected.

Xian Do, “Wil Burns is a troll…a smug, immature, narcissistic, hate-filled pathetic troll. Wil is a name-caller, a parasite, and a child.”

Now who’s the name caller? YOU!

Why do truth and facts upset you people so?

          • http://www.bartcop.com/ Wil Burns

Wil’s problem isn’t that he disagrees, it’s that he doesn’t back up his argument.>>

Jeff, When have you ever proven me wrong. All YOU do is reply with insults! Go and read your replies to me. It all there for all to see.

          • Jeff

[Jeff, When have you ever proven me wrong. All YOU do is reply with insults! Go and read your replies to me. It all there for all to see.]

The column: “And What Exactly is Wrong with Profiling?”

            Your various responses:
“Steve, Okay, everytime someone kills another, it’s a terrorist attack. Are you happy now?”
“Why is the phase “terrorist act” so important to you people?Jeff, you just keep being afraid, very afraid. Don’t forget to take a blanket under your bed tonight. If I were you I wouldn’t leave my house anymore.”
“Hey Jeff, I can understand your conservative callous, selfish disregard for others, but it your pride in it that puzzles me.”
“Jeff, I’m thinking about going into the bomb shelter building business. Do you want to order one?

I might even give you a discount.”

Hmm, all I do is reply with insults? Typical liberal projection.

Don’t worry, I’ll probably ask you challenging questions in the future, and you can non-answer them to your heart’s content, just drop the delusion that childish non-responses to direct questions pass for debate.

    • Stephen Shields Springfield, IL

Wil you are a complete moron. I remember from earlier ramblings of your’s that you have an eye problem. Perhaps that is the reason you can’t see this clearly. Look at the trends. No one is suggesting hatred of Muslims, but guess what. There is a small sect of exrteme Islam that likes to hop on board a 747 full of jet fuel and fly it into some of the tallest buildings in the world all in the name of Allah. What other group of people are doing things like that? I’ll go ahead and give you the answer. NO ONE! So guess what. When a young group of Middle Eastern, Arabic speaking men decide to hop on board a plane, they had better get checked out a little more thoroughly. Stop being an ignorant twit and twisting words.

      • joel o’connor

nice, freedom of speech does not mean freedom to be abusive. I understand you’re passionate, but learn how to seperate your savagery from your thoughtful passion.

        • Stephen Shields Springfield, IL

Savagery? Is telling the blunt truth savagery?

      • http://www.bartcop.com/ Wil Burns

Stephen, You and Bernie, have forgotten what our country looked like under conservative rule, “That’s the disease of our time…that sort of instant forgetting.” Obama has been trying to fix what was brokened, the last 8 years. BTW, have you ever wondered, why THOSE people are angry at us?

        • Jeff

Leave the Bush-blaming to Obama, he’s much better at it than you.

As for “THOSE people”: they’ve been after the USA since long before President Bush was elected, and despite BO’s world-wide apologizing they continue to attack.

Put a true conservative in charge, and you’ll be far safer than we are under our current “president.”

          • http://www.bartcop.com/ Wil Burns

Jeff, Under President Bush and a Republican Congress, a $236 billion surplus turned into a $459 billion deficit The debt was $4.18 trillion when Clinton took office and $5.7 trillion when he left, according to Treasury Department data. Under Bush, it grew to $10.6 trillion. And Bush left Obama a recession and 2 wars to deal with. So, we are to forget about Bush’s failures, right?

          • Jeff

I’m happy to discuss financial policy when that’s the column subject, but we’re talking about terrorism here, mmmkay?

The point of this column was that we’ve been experiencing violent attacks by the same profile-person for decades, and all you could offer was the same ridiculous hatred of President Bush again.

The Muslim males between 17 & 40 keep attacking, and for 40+ years it hasn’t mattered who’s in charge.

          • Jeff

            Gee, Wil, where’d you go?

Thanks again for very effectively proving my point, that you’ll sidestep the subject and then speed away before you ever try to back-up your “argument.”

Here’s hoping your empty rants in the next column are as entertaining.

        • Ron Kean

THOSE people tried to blow up the World Trade Towers a decade before G. W. Bush. Bush & Cheney liberated 50 million of THOSE people in Iraq and Afghanistan from Saddam, Uday, Kuesay, and the Taliban. Our country flourished under Conservative Republicans. I wonder if you are old enough to remember.

        • Stephen Shields Springfield, IL

Did you ever ask why White Supremacists lynched people? NO! It was wrong then and the actions of terrorists are wrong. When a white guy gets on a plane with bombs in his underwear please let me know. By the way. Do some research. Bush may have been a crappy President, but to put it all on him is pretty weak and shows how objective and uninformed you really are.

  • http://www.bigbureaucracy.com/ Ellie

You can add the Moscow theater kept hostage.

Unfortunately women participate more and more often in the suicidal attacks in the Middle East, but you are right – mostly men 17-40.

I don’t see an end to it. I am native of the Balkans and I went to college in Russia next to Caucasus – it is a historical mess in that part of the world where cultures and religions clashed for centuries.

Be affraid people!! Hide!! March!! Band together and stop them!! Meanwhile, your neighbor is raping his daughter…your cheating on your wife….your other neighbor’s kid is a drug dealer….the local doctor is a bigger “legal” drug dealer……the gas station attendant down the street just got shot for 200 dollars….mom is addicted to valum….and while your out maxing your credit cards your kids are at home smoking pot and watching porn….ITS THE HUMAN CONDITION!! GO TO HEAVEN OR GO TO HELL!!

you see the biggest problem we all face is that God is good. And we are not. And as it is we all stand condemed. Most of us assume we will go to heaven because “we are not that bad.” But really…..”you and not that bad ….compaired to who??” “Hitler”…..NO YOU WILL BE COMPAIRED TO THE ONE PERFECT PERSON WHO WALKED ON THIS EARTH. YOU WILL BE COMPAIRED TO GOD. AND YOU WILL FALL SHORT…..chew on it….good luck to you all. Work out your salvation on your own….i cant save you…..there is only one who can….and you hate is name…

    • http://www.bartcop.com/ Wil Burns

Yes Joel, The Invisible Cloud Being is watching over us, so better you watch out!

      • joel o’connor

one day wil…..you are going to die….probably younger than you expected….maybe of a disease or car crash…..but you are on your way out…..do you really want to say that right now? do you really think it is wise to say somthing like that or do you think its arrogent and foolish…..like a little bratty boy….playing marbles with diamonds….

tell you what….read matthew, luke, romans, and for fun timothy. Or try Proverbs 1 through 5. Or Isaiah 1 thru 3. all are short reads….like i said “work out your salvation on your own.” if you let “men” guide you, you will only be disappointed.

        • Stephen Shields Springfield, IL

So now you are going to mock the Bible? Wow! You stay classy Joel O’Connor. I wish we could all be as smart as you elite minded liberals.

          • joel o’connor

you lost me stephen, i dont see how you found me mocking the bible. I am a christian and NO liberal. I am very familure with those books in the bible and thats why i suggested them as starters. You will get the meat and potatoes of the gosspel from those books. But you sir, may be a foney conservitive. Jesus Christ says, “love your neighbor and pray for those who persecute you.” who is your neighbor?? example…mexican immagrants…i know you hate that…. ANd muslims. I know you hate that too. But we will continue to even bless you, aiming to increase your advantage because you need it more than i.

Try not to be so abusive in the future. How can you know what conservative is if you dont know where the idea came from. When the blind lead the blind you are destine to fall into a pit…. I love you stephen….

          • Stephen Shields Springfield, IL

Sorry to burst your bubble Joel. One of my professors who I am very close with is a Muslim. She happens to be in favor of profiling at airports. I have no Mexican friends, but I have nothing against Mexicans in any way shape or form. I know exactly where the idea came from. You obviously wouldn’t know a conservative mindset if it was right under your nose. If I mistook your post I apologize. You’re right, I shouldn’t call Wil names. I’m sorry Wil. I will just make you angrier by ignoring your ignorance.

          • joel o’connor

“one of your professors,” Mr. Shields, im writing you right now from Kuwait, i can write it in arabic if you like. I also spent 2 years in Taif Saudi Arabia as an F-15 instructor. And i have 3 months boots on the ground in Afganistan. I can tell you that most Arabs find the idea of “racial” profiling offensive, isolating, and embarrassing. If you would like to speak to a real arab muslim who still has their accent i can arange that. BTW, walking alone in Saudi, Egypt, Dubai, Abu Dabi, or Kuwait is 1 million times safer than walking “anywhere” in America. That is a fact!
My friend, ive been there, i am here, ive walked, talked, and eaten with these people. You’re all to quick with this broad generalization. There are millions and millions of peaceful and kind hearted muslims. I should know, i have many friends for life in this region.

          • Stephen Shields Springfield, IL

Good for you. Do you want an award? My professor still has her accent. She voted for President Obama and she is still for racial profiling at airports. Are you trying to say she isn’t a real Muslim, or that she has no say?

          • Stephen Shields Springfield, IL

Interesting webiste Wil. I have no idea why that website pertains to this discussion, however. Unfortunately, it does not take in to account a few important factors that anyone preaching the power of prayer will tell you.

            1) God is not a magician
            2) Instead of praying for a sepcific item or event to occur, pray for opportunities.
            3) God will not answer your prayer in the way you see fit. He has a plan for us all.

Attempting to be selfless and give up your life to God is not any easy task, and I fail at it daily, as evident by my rude remarks to you, for which I am truly sorry. Give God a try, really do some research. Go get yourself an NIV Bible (My personal preferance) and a good study guide. Attempt to let God into your life, you will be rewarded.

As a past staunch supporter of making you look like a fool. I whole heartedly apologize for the insults I have directed your way. From now on I will be respoding to you in a different tone. I was in the wrong, and I am sorry.

Please, understand what I am about to tell you. I do not hate Muslims. I believe that Islam is a peaceful religion, and I believe a vast majority of Muslims are good people. However, there is a sect of Islam that feels it is their holy duty to cary out Jihad on people throughout the world who do not believe the words of the Holy Quran. I’ve read the Quran in a comparative relgion course, and in no parts can I find where it tells followers of Islam to commit those terrible acts. In comparison, the White Arian Nation feels it is their holy duty to ethnically cleanse the earth based on beliefs they derive from the Holy Bible. Being a Christian, I can tell you there is no scripture in the Bible that even suggests what the White Arian Nation preaches and practices. Two vary similar situations, both minorities groups. When a different group of people other than Islamic Jihadists start hopping on airplanes with the intent of blowing them up or crashing them into a burning building then profiling with be of no use. Until then, it is a tool that should be utilized. By the way, I’m not for profiling anywhere but airports. Any other use of profiling just doesn’t seem rational.

  • Johnny Utah

Osama bin Laden is 52. So we must not define our enemies to that more narrow profile. I do believe he’s muslim though.

  • miss911ninja

There was one inaccuracy in this list. Sirhan Sirhan, the man who shot Bobby Kennedy, was not a Muslim. There was also a major omission from this list. The Turkish man who shot and almost killed Pope John Paul II, Mehmet Ali Agca, WAS a Muslim.

    • Henry

While it is true that Sirhan Sirhan was not a Muslim (he was born into a Christian Arab family), his shooting of RFK was motivated by both Arab nationalism and his hatred of the U.S.’s support of Israel. RFK promised to support Israel if he were elected President. For that, Sirhan wrote in his journal, “Kennedy must die by June 5th”, which at that time was the 1st anniversary of the Six-Day War.

      • miss911ninja

Thank you for that information Henry. I’m not surprised! You might want to check out “the religionofpeace.com” which contains a wealth of information about the many positive contributions which are being made by our Muslim friends around the world. And yes that was sarcastic! Note: the web address is NOT preceded by “www.” Doing so would land you on a propaganda site.

        • Henry

Thanks miss911ninja, I’ll be sure to check out the web site!

  • william ridenour

Man, this is tough to see, but the truth is the truth. I just can’t imagine what could have caused Wiley E. Coyote and Olga Corbette to have gone so bad.

  • Steven M

The 1995 bombing of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City wasn’t a “D” answer; odds are it’s a “D” answer from above. By all means, we should play the percentages!

  • Dan

I don’t think we should call it “profiling” anymore. I think we ought to call it “Trend- or Pattern-based investigation and prevention.”

  • Jim

Are you sure there was not ONE 80 year old grandmother co-conspirator! Or perhaps a international radical ‘Bagger”? AAH, you maybe on to something

  • Bill

Wait. I think I see a trend there.
