Ladies Against Senator Sleaze-Bob

Conservatives are always told they don’t do enough to reach across the aisle. We’re divisive, obstructionist and hostile to bipartisanship. So in the spirit of unity and comity, I’m announcing the formation of a new social justice group: Ladies Against Senator Sleaze-Bob.

Now all I need are some principled Democratic ladies and liberal media lionesses to step up to the plate with me to protest the vulgar, sexist behavior of Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J.

Surely, Nancy Pelosi, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Cher, Sandra Fluke, Eva Longoria and I can all agree that when a powerful Washington politician abuses his power to victimize young women, we should join hands to demand justice. Right?

Surely, Barbara Walters, Diane Sawyer, Arianna Huffington, Rachel Maddow, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Lena Dunham, Tina Fey and every card-carrying member of NOW across America are outraged by this Beltway playboy’s tawdry exploitation of underage prostitutes.

And surely, Hillary Clinton, Valerie Jarrett, Stephanie Cutter and Michelle Obama are all sickened by this top Democrat’s profligate election-season jaunts to the Dominican Republic on a shady donor’s private plane.

Oh, wait. What? You haven’t heard about Menendez’s war on women from the left-wing War on Women brigade? Nary a progressive peep? Well, knock me over with a Code Pink feather boa. Not sure how the story could have slipped their news-savvy feminist minds.

The divorced Menendez is in slowly bubbling hot water over a couple of trips he’s taken over the years to the Caribbean for sex parties with young women, reportedly including a 16-year-old minor. The left-leaning watchdog group CREW (Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington) and the right-leaning publication The Daily Caller were the first to publicize allegations last November that Menendez solicited prostitutes with his creepy donor pal Florida eye doctor Salomon Melgen.

On Wednesday night, the FBI and the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General raided Melgen’s home and hauled away more than 30 cardboard boxes. The news jogged Menendez’s memory and — mirabile dictu — the incoming chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee suddenly remembered that he owed nearly $60,000 to Melgen as reimbursement for two private-jet flights taken three years ago.

While Menendez’s office blames a “right-wing blog” for his troubles, CREW released an e-mail yesterday detailing Menendez’s encounters with four Dominican female escorts at an island resort owned by Melgen. One of the women wrote about Menendez’s pervy proclivities: “That senator also likes the youngest and newest girls. … In the beginning he seemed so serious, because he never spoke to anyone, but he is just like the others and has just about the same tastes as the doctor, very refined. I think they were taking us more often to get us checked (medically) because of him.”

The women, who accused Menendez of stiffing them out of their pay, said they feared retaliation, because they “know the kind of people (we’re) dealing with.”

And we know how leading Democratic men on Capitol Hill are dealing with the news. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., derided the news source of the scandal for bringing up “a lot of non-issues.” White House spokesman Jay Carney punted in response to a question about whether President Obama still has confidence in Menendez: “I don’t have anything for you on that.” And other than a stray joke from Jay Leno, the Democratic-entertainment complex has nothing to say, either.

So it’s time for my fellow Ladies Against Senator Sleaze-Bob to represent. Where you at, LASSes? The political boys club is calling the exploited women of tax-evader Melgen’s Doll Palace liars and trying to sweep this pedo-tainted scandal under the rug. I guess some “binders full of women” are more equal than others.

  • Joel Wischkaemper

Does anyone think this will get any better than it is now? I don’t think so. I think it could get worse, and I also think members of Congress are ‘punishing’ the American People for challanging them. That alone suggests something evil this way comes.

  • rlpincus

Michelle Malkin, proving once again that she deserves a diaper more than a forum.

  • Pollyanna

As always, Michelle…you hit the nail on the head with gusto. It’s almost funny how so-called liberal feminists and champions of women’s rights are glaringly silent. Then again, I’m not surprised that the esteemed Hillary Clinton hasn’t spoken out. After all, she sat by while her husband took advantage of young, less powerful women and abused his power (and obviously still does). So no surprise there! Thanks for the laugh this morning!

  • BruceMajors4DC

I’m hoping to see more follow up on that New York Post headline saying male escorts were involved as well for some of this group.

    • BruceMajors4DC

Maybe Menendez can come out before Mikulski and the other closeted Dems.

  • Phil Silverman

Bernie, this is a lowclass and very BIASED piece of nothing you have contributed…no evidence of any corruption…by the way, the subject matter is very sensitive for women..and your “article” is not. But I hope Roger Ailes approves you for a dedicated parking space.

    • Barack_Sucks

your such a sad little wanker i *almost* feel sorry for you.
      /sarc off = true

    • Jimmy V

Hey goober, reading comprehension a problem for you? It was written by Michelle Malkin, not Bernie. Thats why the author writes their name at the top of the article. Next time se tv the vong down before posting ya nit wit!

      • Jimmy V

*set the bong down. Lousy smart phone.

      • John Daly

Phil has this problem all the time. When his Mom reads him these columns, I think she forgets to name the author

    • Johnny Deadline

An excellent description, Phil, of Obama’s bipartisan efforts – low class, biased, and insensitive. This administration has brought civility in politics to an all-time low.

  • Ken08534

George Stephanopolus actually asked Harry Reid about Menedez on This Week, and Reid had the guts to actually say in a clear voice that he had every confidence in Sen. Menendez and that there was absolutely no reason for Menendez to step aside while he is under investigation.

I don’t recall Harry Reid ever taking such a stance when a Republican was under investigation, but I’m sure he did… Right?

    • Phil Silverman

sure..the Lib media never covered “Lewinskygate”. Or Edwardsgate. nah. Or Gary Hartgate. nahhhh.

      • Patrick H.

They didn’t cover it until they had to. They held off on John Edwards because he was hammering Hillary Clinton in the 2008 primary.

    • BruceMajors4DC

Old Land Deal Dirty Harry doesn’t understand what all the fuss is about. Animated cadavers don’t experience lust.

  • Iklwa

Save your ink and your breath, Michelle.

These are exactly the kinds of acts that serve to cement
politicians like Menendez in the minds of their liberal constituency as “One of
    Our Own.”

This year, Bill Clinton was awarded “Father of the Year” by
    another liberal group.

I can only wonder how many little Bills have been fathered
or wound up in a clinic’s disposal system by the President’s prodigious effort
at spreading seed. Perhaps that is one of the qualifications for being
nominated by this group. If so, I am afraid I will never show up on their list
as my wives and lovers can be counted on the fingers of one hand…same with the
number of my progeny…How boring is that!

If only the good Congressman had been smoking crack at the
time and suffered emotional trauma, then we could really gin up a little sympathy
    for him.

All I can say is: It’s a good thing for him there wasn’t a
dog tied to the top of that plane.

Then he would be in real trouble!

    • BruceMajors4DC

His daughter Alicia seems to be staying off TV while all this is going on.

  • Doug Henninger

Leftists are as close to marxists/communists as you can get. It’s why real communists use them as ‘dupes’ to further their goals. And that is explained in the biography of Obama’s mentor… Frank Marshall Davis, a USA communist for decades… The expose’ is called ‘Communist’ by author Kengor.
And nothing is more dear to leftists than trying to act smart and twisting words to make a blue sky into turquoise (which is more ‘nuanced’ and carries gravitas). There is only one sensible approach: expose them; call them out; defeat them at elections; tell others why they are phony and make it convincing. And Michelle Malkin must be married to one of the few proudest men in America. Imagine actually marrying a woman who loves the truth so much, and is articulate and intelligent enough, to compel others to hear the truth.

  • domremy03

He may well get away with it. And, if he does, those who present themselves as defenders of women’s rights will be the one’s who see to it. That’s what’s so disturbing.

  • gloria100

The media are so corrupt. Not a peep out of them in all these months.

We allready have mass amnesty for Democrats.

“As long as Republicans allow themselves to be defined by the left, this will continue…”
Absolutely. Most Republicans are politicians first, protecting their cushy, easy job first over anything and everything. And you would too. The incentives are f-ed up. Some new ones might be different, but the pressure to “get along and go along” is intense. The country gets thrown away and a possible-dictator gets promoted from nothing to the most powerful man in the world by the Democratic Party the Left-wing media and the frightened Republicans.

  • Shane

If the FBI brings charges against the Senator from La Raza, then the media will not ignore it. I hope the stories are true so that the Hispanic Supremacist Menendez is forced to resign. He’s another lefty Senator pushing for a mass amnesty for illegal aliens.

    • Ken08534

Christy would get to pick his replacement. Wonderful!

    • Sams_1

If only we could rid ourselves of the La Raza Supreme Sotomayor while we’re at it.

  • fitzsimmons Photography

I’ve been railing about the Dems and their phony ‘war on women’ for months…..the Obama sleeze team of Cutter,Axlerod and ‘flakey Fluke’ created the WAR ON WOMEN to bully and degrade the Republican party and Mitt Romney. Then they brought in the biggest misogynist in the world, Bill Clinton, to speak and represent liberals and liberal women at their convention. HE, the worst example of abuse of women, was praised and deified at the convention. HE saved Obama’s campaign. He And the Dems and their lying liberal party, showed during that convention, how disgustingly dangerous people can be when they have no free press questioning their motives or actions. No free press to hold their feet to the fire. No free press because they and the press are ONE!! I never thought I would live to see this derelict, abusive, behavior by the press in The United States of America.

As long as Republicans allow themselves to be defined by the left, this will continue………

    • Doug Henninger

Well put. After I looked up these terms in Google, it really became clear to me what has happened in 2008 and until now. Go do it yourself: ‘Obama mentor’ , ‘Axelrod mentor’ , ‘Vernon Jarrett’ . Now tie the 3 men together by their shared ideology and figure the odds that Obama, Axelrod, Jarrett would end up in the very same administration. The conclusion is inescapable and will not even be named on television news networks.

  • Just a Thought

Hey, Michelle, love all your writings, particularly when they involve such exercises in futility as suggesting a marshalling of liberal and democratic women in a cause such as the one you suggest here. While you’re dealing with exercises in futility regarding these women, who are so opposed to the concocted war against women, why not try marshalling them to “Stop the (real) War (they wage) Against Women in the Womb,” abortion? Your chances of success with these LASSes would be about the same, and for the same reason.

    • Sams_1

      Just a thought. Perfectly named.

We have lost this country. There is no taking it back. It’s been a great experiment but our Founders couldn’t imagine Progressives who don’t believe in Jesus, right or wrong or the Rule of Law. But the experiment has failed and we’re all going to the toilet together.
Our capitalists and entrepreneurs were busily building businesses, creating jobs and prosperity while those “activists” were taking the money we created and using it against, basically against the Constitution. But they’ve won: they own education, which now is anti-freedom propaganda; they own the media, which now is anti-freedom propaganda; they own the entertainment industry, which is now anti-freedom propaganda. And they have frightened our most successful companies from Microsoft (the first) through Google so they spend tens of millions in Washington, D. C. and ask Washington permission to take a piss.
    We have lost.

    • Sams_1

Why don’t you go away , failure. The experiment is at a heightened phase . the Bunsen burner and all cowards can just stay out of the way.
      You must be old.

I don’t know why anyone is surprised or outraged. It is life in these United States of America: Democrats are the moral ones, so they can do anything they want and call it … nothing … every perversion of theft by Democrats gets … nothing … and any true news of it gets derided by the Left-wing NFM (Non-Fox media). SO live with it. Republicans need to get mad, forget about the deprecation by NY Times, NBC and the rest…it will come. Yell over them. Tell the truth. Get mad.

  • wally

If there isn’t enough evidence against S. Bob and the under age accusation, the legislators should follow up on his attempt to use $60,000 of trip money from the eye doctor.

  • Juggy

Let’s see…he’s a Democrat, Cuban and liberal…I say this story goes away unless some bare assed photos of him show up, which is a distinct possibility in this day and age.

  • worldwatchers

It’s perfectly fine with the Democrats and the women’s Lib
after all the girls were over 12

  • Jim Pell

In the state of Louisiana, with parents’ consent, a woman may marry at age 16.

    • Deborah G

And the point is?marraige is Not prostitution

      • Jim Pell

Malkin wrote a delightful, scathing condemnation of Menendez, maybe deserved, maybe not. If he has dallied with prostitutes, and if he has traded his senatorial influence for access to such activities, he should resign. But calling a 16 year old female a child is a technicality.

        • peterk

So what’s wrong Jim, you sure are looking for “technicalities” and why would that be??? I bet you don’t know, except for the fact that you didn’t need to bring it up. Because now it’s apparent you’re a mind reader and jury duty might be something you should have no problem being dismissed from. You can’t spot innocent or guilty people -just like that.

        • fitzsimmons Photography

What? Is a sixteen year old who is being sold to sleezy old men acceptable Jim?

        • liberaltool

jim,if it were YOUR 16 year old daughter, would you want this sleazy 50s something, old perv. grinding her into the mattress?
and then say, “oh what the hey, she’s 16, its all good”?

          • Sams_1

I think they really prefer 13 year olds. I am quite serious. Both genders

          • Sams_1

This is not directed AT you but for all. Sometimes or every time one had to say this-make it personal or a matter of ownership.
What if it was YOUR wife , sister girlfriend Mother.

When all along just that it was a girl or woman and she needed you. Why can’t that engender enough compassion?
That is why there is a need for Feminists and my sisters-familial and otherwise- taught me that a long time ago.
liberaltool I think you get it and do not need this personalization.
If a woman is abused this way , or a girl ,she is not heavy she is your sister.

          • liberaltool

            exactly my point, Sams_1.

          • Sams_1

With all due respect-and you have mine even if “she” is not in ones personal life (My sister , My girlfriend ,My Mother) and the ownership so to speak is not there a female is remote and
            un- important .
This is still lacking even in American culture.
Not with every single male but it is still the case in most.

It is in art movies songs . The guy gets his face busted after a rude crude comment on a female stranger and the guys says HEY that’s my sister… or That’s no lady that’s my wife.

Guys just still think that’s funny . Females do not make remarks that invite being decked. Males still enjoy higher status and value, and not on the basis of your relation to them personally.

          • liberaltool

excellent post, Sams_1. i have 3 daughters myself, aged 18,21 and 23, and i could not agree with you more! part of the lack of respect and social parity is due to modern societies “hoe-ification” of women(sorry,i know thats not really a word) due to street culture
and the media’s portrayal(betrayel) of women.but a lot rests on males who feel well served by allowing or encouraging this
de-humanization of half of the human race.

  • BrianFruman

Look the Herman Caine thing was fair game and he wasnt in office. Liberals should run from this guy, this is way worse than Anthony Weiner. This is a serious felony

    • Deborah G

They won’t they’ll defend him,. idolize him and when slick Willie kicks it he will take his palce. Just like the nurdering Kennedy because their fearless grandaddy

  • Joel

The willing co-opting of feminism by the left has been written about for years. Tammy Bruce discussed it in The Death of Right and Wrong (2003).

Now however, refusal to pay for a well to do single woman’s birth control is akin to a “war on women.” Solicitation of underage prostitutes, a yawner. Never has the partisanship of feminism been so stark.

    • Deborah G

They just use the buzz words over and over to incite even more stupid women

  • bobemakk

I hope he is convicted, thrown out of office and jailed. He is a big part of the Obama regime.

    • ted

Convicted? Charges need to be brought. So let’s see…The Democratic Senate? No. Eric Holder, Democrat AG? NO. Well that’s it. Scott Free!

  • Greatsnowman

Any group of people who could redefine the meaning of “is”, is more than capable of redefning what it means to be a lecherous old dirt bag. The lecher in-chief, Slick Willie , has been the point man for men in power to use that power to put vulnerable women in postions of weakness. I guess its wrong to exoect a sudden sense of morality from their ranks

    • Doug Henninger

Correct; I tell anyone who has enough sense to understand it… ” Liberals use words to get what they want. The truth makes no difference. They say words, or twist what you say, to get what they want.

    • Iklwa

I suggest you best NOT hold your breath!

  • gbandy

Did anyone ever hear Hillary denounce Bill during the Monica tryst? Well the Left will do and say anything to protect their own. Menendez is the epitome of the Democrat Left just do whatever and probably soon blame Bush.

  • Gloves Donahue, Jr.

The MSM will ignore it as long as they can, then try to cover it up, then come up with some equivalence that excuses it.
(“Why, the poor man is working so hard for America and New Jersey that he has no time for dating.”)

Liberal women have no interest, just as they ignored attacks on Ann Romney, Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, Ingraham, Malkin and so many more because they are conservative. To lefty women, if you’re not a lib, you’re evil and deserve what you get.

Godspeed, B_S, as you seek to better your mind, studying for clinicals.

I fear we may be adding confusion here, so I ask forgiveness of the other conservatives at this fine site of the honorable Mr. G. This reply is linked to a recent AT thread: “Our Foreign Policy Establishment: Looking for Love in all the Wrong Places”

B_S, between you and Gloves above you, it’s a powerful One-Two duo. Both of you inflict major pain on Obummer, albeit with vastly different styles. You’re *both* awesome!

          • liberaltool

thanks Freedom, i have come across Gloves Donahue, Jr. and his
concise and deadly accurate posts in the past, always reading them with pleasure. its nice to see someone so adept at skewering liberals on the sharp point of their own “sword of inconsistency”!
(do you really follow 31 posters? how do you manage? you must be an organisational genius,Freedom! im sure i’d forget who i was replying to or about what subject! ). “see” you in a bit ,mon frere.

Yes, Tool, I’m following 30+ people now via the Disqus Dashboard, and it can get pretty intense!

I’m negotiating with the locals for a private T3 line to fix the slow-loading bottleneck, but the FCC has a foot on my neck: they’re saying there’s a clamp-down on hate speech :-(

Agree 100% re your opinion of our heroic Gloves Donahue, Jr.
His Poison Pen is razor-sharp, and he shows **no mercy** to the evil libs!

Thanks for the kind words, Tool.

Hey, c’mon, I was just joking about the FCC vs. me and my hate speech. But wait a minute . . . I do hate the way Obummer is running our nation into the ground. And I do love the way Bernard Goldberg courageously exposes the Lamestream Media for being spineless, corrupt lapdogs.

So does that make me a hater? Yeah, I guess so 😉

          • liberaltool

(^^ ) ok i get it now. yea Bernie is great ,i like Levin too. i agree
about the Lamestream Lemmings, i think they are gonna wake up one fine day and realize that they are off the cliff(and out of their minds). hopefully before America falls down the rabbit hole for good.

real unemployment is around 15+% and ready to climb as the fed claims hiring, reality shows workers sliding off unemployment and off the gov,t roles into the gutter. 2013 is poised to be the worst year yet for the Obozo non-recovery.and the fed and its magic printing press keeps churning out nearly worthless $$ at a record pace as the fed artificially injects nearly 90 billion$$ per month to make our zombie economy stagger around as though it were actually alive.
these arent Boehners or Womney’s or anyone else’s failures.they are Obozo’s. calling this clueless circus clown
