Is Obama Clueless — or Dishonest?

O liedI’m always amused when I hear my liberal friends say that they’re pro choice.  What they mean, of course, is they’re pro choice when it comes to abortions. But many of these same liberals support nanny state laws that tell us how much soda we can drink from one cup, or what kind of fats are acceptable for us to eat in restaurants. Those laws restrict our choices.  And they’re certainly not pro-choice when it comes to ObamaCare.

Millions of Americans are right now getting cancellation letters from their insurance companies thanks to the unfortunately named Affordable Care Act.  The plans, according to the president and other liberals who know what’s best for us, were junk that left us, in the president’s term, “underinsured.”

Maybe they did.  Maybe, as Mr. Obama says, we’ll get a “better deal” with the new plans we’ll get from the exchanges, if we can ever get on the exchanges.  In any case, whatever happened to “If you like your healthcare plan you can keep it – period.”

But as an editorial in the Wall Street Journal put it, “If the federal exchanges really were better, Mr. Obama wouldn’t have needed to outlaw the old product and compel everyone to buy the new, government-approved version.”

And this is from the people who tell us they’re pro choice!

President Obama and his slobbering supporters talk to us the way parents speak to children.  “You think you know what’s best, but you don’t,” a mother tells her 10-year old child.  This is how people who are smart talk to people who aren’t, how superiors talk to inferiors.

But despite the media attention it’s been getting, the massive failure of the rollout may be the least of the problems with ObamaCare.  Liberalism – and its I-know-what’t-best-for-you-because-you’re-not-smart-enough-to-take-care-of yourself—is a much bigger issue.  Liberals like to tell us that, unlike conservatives, they’re open-minded.  What they really are is authoritarian. And what they practice is liberal paternalism.

Which leads me to a new Gallup poll, which has President Obama’s approval rating at a dismal 40 percent – and his disapproval number at a troubling (for him) 53 percent.

It doesn’t take a political genius to know ObamaCare is behind these numbers. The same people who didn’t care about Benghazi or the IRS scandal care about what’s going on with their healthcare.  Benghazi and the IRS mess didn’t directly hit them, so they let it slide. ObamaCare is hitting them, directly and hard.  They’re the ones getting cancellation letters from their insurance carriers; they’re the ones who are getting sticker shock rate hikes.

But there’s one more element, I think.  And that is the belief held by many Americans that the president lied to them, that he knew all along what was coming, but he decided not to tell the truth because the truth might mean an early end to ObamaCare.  The truth might also have cost him re-election.

Even the clueless, the low information voters, the ones who barely know how many states there are, don’t like a person who looks them in the eye and lies. And I think the Gallup numbers reflect that. But in fairness to the president, there is another possibility.  Maybe he was selling the American people something that even he didn’t understand. After all, his pal Nancy Pelosi did tell us that we’d have to pass the bill to find out what’s in it.

So Mr. Obama is either clueless or dishonest.  Take your pick.

I think President Obama is in the process of remaking the Democratic Party, first African Americans are the most loyal supporters of the Democratic Party and white Democrats that control the workings of the party will lose if African Americans stay home on election day, the same holds true for the media and Hollywood who have been allowed to remain the last bastion of white power in America, avoiding the stigma of being called a racist President Obama knows how African Americans were treated in Chicago when he was growing up, he also remembers white Democrats trying to seize power from Chicago’s first black mayor Harold Washington with the slogan we have the votes, so how does a media that labels Republicans, white Americans and now White Hispanics a bunch of racist criticize Americas First African American President, the same holds true for white politicians who have to worship the man who controls ninety percent or more of The African American vote, white Democrats consider themselves the appointed saviors of African Americans and President Obama is determined to level the playing field.

Obama knows exactly what he is doing. He is a Charlatan acting on a stage.
He has many different brands of snake oil in his traveling show wagon. Don”t
be fooled, he also is very good at being a circus side show barker. He constantly
deceives and prevaricates all along the road. For him the ideal job is a sales
position at Slick’s Used Auto Sales in Chicago. He will do quite well selling
everyone that special Lemon they always didn’t want. All Sales Are Final !

    • Joe Adams

yeah, that’s a pretty good analysis. Obama was willing to say whatever to get the big takeover passed. Everyone (liberal & conservative) can agree that his heart is in gov’t, socialist style solutions. That’s the way he grew up and nobody is ever going to change it. Hey, gov’t money worked very well for him during his formative years, especially during his time in Chicago. For socialists, gov’t $ represents the ultimate path to power. Democrats will happily bankrupt our country into dust like Pakistan so long as they get their pockets full first. Hang on though brethren, voters may begin to realize the game.

      • Joe Adams

Aside, do regular Americans have any idea about the number of Hispanics living, thriving in America that can barely speak any English? Working in a US call center, 60-70 % of my calls daily are from Mexican immigrants. They have money, buy what they want, pay no taxes, get maximum SNAP, free medical care, free job services, a total free ride. Very often, their drug brothers are right behind them.

And we wonder why our country is overrun. The grand old USA is in serious trouble

I think the people will decide. Conservatives and evangelicals sat home 2012. If course we must pound obamacare and taxes to bring it home. Personally,i like them both and would vote for either one. We must convince evangelicals,(which i am) to vote. We can’t win debating gay marriage, abortion for rape victims etc. I like jindal,WE NEED TO STOP BEING THE STUPID PARTY. Lets talk to blacks about charter schools and vouchers, they want that. Hispanic voters are business owner s,lets talk taxes, not self deportation.i have a friend who just had a 25 percent reduction of food stamps.dhs told him it was a natiin wide cut. Good. People need to learn how to eat healthy and cheaply. We waste alot if money on fs. I pay 25$ a week, and i eat well. My point is i don’t hear anyone screaming abt the cuts. So,much fraud,so few willing to deal with it. Christie or Cruz. Either one. If the party doesnt reach out to moderates and cinservatives,we cant win

Can the nation survive a president who hates his own country, despises his own people; who wants to transform us all into little socialist drones? His narcissistic personality disorder allows him to lie with such ease. He revels in getting over on people. When he is caught in a lie he apologizes for not lying good enough and promises to lie better in the future. How are we to rid ourselves of the scourge that is Barack Obama? Are there no congress critters with the guts to initiate impeachment proceedings?

Most of those losing their insurance are doing so because of the “Grandfather
clause” Bill passed in 2010. For it to be law, the President had to sign it.
In order to fulfill his sworn duty to enforce the law, he would have to have read it.
Assuming that a Harvard Law School graduate understood the law, he had to
know what this law would do. Therefore,
Obama is a LIAR, and a repetitious one at that. Dishonesty doesn’t even cover it all.

OBAMA IS NOT CLUELESS, HE’S RIGHT ON SCHEDULE UNVEILING THE PRIMACY OF THE APARATCHIK STATE
Article 1 Section 1, Constitution for the united States: “All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives.”
__Most of us believe that the Congress is the body which exclusively passes the laws of the land. Ten times as many laws are passed by the 319 agencies from the FDA, to the infamous EPA, and even more so nowadays, Presidential Executive orders, all without the consent of Congress. We have in the past 75 years or so, ceded, unconstitutionally, legislative authority in passing and enforcing laws into the hands of un elected bureaucrats. We see the fruits of these laws in the Code of Federal Regulations which comprises around 300 volumes, whereas, the laws passed by congress within the United States Code, comprises only 35 volumes.
__When Mark Levin alluded to the fact that the authorities are already in place for a turn key totalitarian state, he was referring to the construction of this shadow governing authority outside of our government of, for, and by the people, to a government of independent aparatchiks. We are seeing now the audacity of Barack Obama in him implementing this shadow state.
    ****Wise up America!!

“SPECIAL NEWS ALERT!” “SPECIAL NEWS ALERT!” “SPECIAL NEWS…!”

Today Obama announced his plans to implement a follow-up to the Affordable Care Act, or ACA, and stated that the ACA-II is coming on the heels of the ACA-I (Obamacare) as a result of the tremendous success of the healthcare reform bill that was passed three years ago.

The ACA-II, or Affordable Car Act, will be modeled upon ACA-I, and it will also contain government mandates similar to the now-popular requirement for all persons to be covered by insurance. Likewise, the ACA-II will require all cars to contain specific options in order to meet the requirements of the law. Those automobiles which are currently permitted but do not comply with the strict criteria set forth in the law and its accompanying regulations will no longer be licensed and must be scrapped. Federal subsidies will be available to help with the purchase of new, compliant vehicles, and these subsidies will be made available to those who currently do not own an automobile. It is anticipated that participation in the “ObamaCar” program will be near 100% and, owing to this high rate of response, costs for individual consumers will be cut by 75%, meaning that most people will be able to purchase a Cadillac with all the options for about $2,500.

As President Obama stated, “I wish they had this program when I was growing up. I certainly don’t mind paying more and getting more…even if I have to pay for things that I don’t want or need.”

  • Big Truck Joe

Obama – “You can have any color car you want…but we are outlawing red car paint. But you can still have any car color you want, but its those bad car companies that (are following the law) and not painting their cars red like you wanted. Its their fault not my fault because my administration outlawed the color red. Under my administration you can still have any car color you want.”

Double speak has arrived. Thanks national media for being sycophant stenographers and not actually performing any due diligence on this whole Obamacare mess. Brilliant. F-ing brilliant.

    • D Parri

Cheer up…ACA-II should take care of that problem. You know, ObamaCar!

  • Big Truck Joe

    uhhhh…he lied.

  • Wheels55

After listening to Obama’s apology, I conclude he is dishonest. Him saying you can keep your healthcare plan and doctor over and over again and then apologizing by saying people losing their plans was not his intention means either he is a very stupid guy to not know what his law was doing or he is dishonest. I just don’t think he is that stupid. The apology is inSINcere due to the timing – it came only after the liberal media was slamming him.

  • D Parri

I think Nazi Pelosi said it best as to their determination and willingness of the Demo-heads to do whatever it takes to get the bill passed.

I agree with you. Obama does not care about objective truth. Obama believes that his fallacies are so well constructed that the ‘functionally- illiterate-base’ of his will, and do, eat it up!! “When you say you’re against it, you’re saying that you don’t want people like me to have health insurance.”

So says veteran GOP campaign staffer Clint Murphy. Perhaps if any of you right wingers are diagnosed with testicular cancer as Murphy was, you might experience a similar revelation.

Typical right wing hypocrisy, the world revolves around you. Like Cheney and Portman on gay marriage. Like Nancy Reagan on stem cell research. When there is skin off your potatoe.you will always sing a different aria

    • Drew Page

Klod — I care as much about Clint Murphy as he cares about me. I am not saying I don’t want people like him to have insurance, or any other of life’s necessities. I am saying that I don’t want to have to give up what I have to make sure that he has what he needs. I don’t want people like him to be poor, but I do not feel obligated to make sure he isn’t, at my expense.
Clint Murphy’s needs are his needs. They are not the responsibility of anyone but himself. Those of us who pay taxes already support millions who can’t or won’t. One of the differences, probably of many, between Mr. Murphy and me (and most likely you) is that when I have been “up against it” I never expected someone else to make my problems go away. My problems were and are my problems, not anyone else’s.

      • Klodney Otisville

Exactly until you are diagnosed with cancer or get run over by a bus. Then like all right wingers you will change your tune

A mini digression before another in a line of pointless rants. My biggest issue with liberal hypocrisy isn’t with their defining and redefining what a “lie” is depending on who’s president, or scatter-shot, hit-or-miss logic used to decide what government should control and what it shouldn’t. It isn’t even, as Bernie cites, their appeal to their own open-mindedness.

My big issue is that, by and large, liberals stake claim to science — be it hard laboratory science, or social science. They claim to be the party of science. Objectivity, which is a prerequisite for all science, does not often exist in politics, particularly on the left, where, supposedly, science lives.

There is an outright absence of it.

Objectively: Obama did not tell the truth.

Objectively: Obama then turned it back around as if Americans couldn’t grasp English.

Objectively: The ACA is not performing as its supporters claimed it would.

Objectively: A vast amount of money was spent for incredibly little return.

Objectively: The uninsured matter more than the insured, which is not equality.

Objectively: Americans have yet to support this particular law (not reform in general) to the extent the law’s proponents led on.

I understand that the right is full up with scum-of-the-earth liars. It’s why I have no party affiliation. But if you’re a liberal Democrat out there, whose time is spent sidling up to these supposed advanced, civilized, honest, objective principles and people, just stop it. Stop claiming objectivity. Stop claiming intellectual superiority and the moral high ground. It’s okay to admit that this is all nonsense, Obama was untruthful, and that we’ve all been taken for a ride.

The government is operating healthcare reform like the writers of Lost handled their popular series. They’re making it up as they go along. Let’s just hope for the sake of America that there’s a brighter light at the end of the tunnel than what was in that island creek.

    • Klodney Otisville

Objectively: Here is your very own Newt Gingrich:

Ask members of Congress about “a positive replacement” for President Barack Obama’s health care makeover, Gingrich said. “They will have zero answer.”

“Because we are caught up right now in a culture, and you see it every single day, where as long as we’re negative, and as long as we’re vicious, and as long as we can tear down our opponent, we don’t have to learn anything. And so we don’t,” said Gingrich, who, it might be said, invented the all-or-nothing GOP.

      http://www.ajc.com/weblogs/political-insider/2013/aug/17/two-changing-views-top-and-bottom-gop-health-care-/

      • Josh

Dafuq does that have to do with anything I wrote?

Gingrich can go roll around in his jewelry like Scrooge McDuck, for all I give a pluck.

At the end of this post, I’ll write out, in great detail, how much real influence Gingrich has in politics and how much he has to do with healthcare in America.

        • Klodney Otisville

You said yourself that what you wrote is a pointless rant.
As for Gingrich being irrelevant, recall that he was the original Ted Cruz, who you no doubt worship. And your boy will no doubt follow the same path into oblivion.

    • potemkin_village_usa

I agree! English language abuse is a problem with Obama!!

  • Larry blaspheming liberalism

Obama, Jarrett, Sebelius, Reid, etc. are dishonest. Pelosi would be dishonest if she weren’t so clueless. The bulk of Democrat voters are clueless.

  • Curt Parker

Do not accept any notion that Barry doesn’t know he’s destroying the private healthcare market. In 2008 he repeatedly made clear he wants a single-payer system, that being the federal government. He and his fellow socialists are succeeding in forcing private business out of the health insurance market. Even though Obamacare is being launched by a pack of idiots, it will ultimately be forced down the throats of all Americans. Then we’ll all have “free” healthcare. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to afford it.

  • VermontAmerican

Obama doubled down on lying. He could have admitted, “I was wrong about Americans keeping their plans.” Instead, he now qualifies his previous lies by saying, “What WE were saying (note the use of the plural pronoun “we”) is that you can keep your plan–as long as it meets federal standards.” That is clearly NOT what he said or meant.

It’s one thing to lie; it’s another thing to lie again to cover the first lie. This president has a radical “by-any-means-necessary” philosophy. The American people deserve better than that from their leaders.

Forbes: White House Predicted in 2010 That 93 Million Would Lose Their Health Plans Under ObamaCare

    By Noel Sheppard | October 31, 2013 | 09:20

To counter accusations that the President lied when he repeatedly told
Americans they can keep their health insurance plans if they liked them,
the administration has claimed that he was referring to the millions of
    people covered by their employers.

An article from Forbes Thursday thoroughly refutes this claiming that Obama
officials back in 2010 predicted that 93 million Americans would have
their plans cancelled as a result of ObamaCare including a vast amount
    of those with employer-sponsored plans:

If you read the Affordable Care Act when it was passed, you knew that it
was dishonest for President Obama to claim that “if you like your plan,
you can keep your plan,” as he did—and continues to do—on countless
occasions. And we now know that the administration knew this all along.
It turns out that in an obscure report buried in a June 2010 edition of
the Federal Register, administration officials predicted massive
disruption of the private insurance market. […]

[T]he administration’s commentary in the Federal Register did not only refer to the individual market, but also the market for employer-sponsored health insurance.

Section 1251 of the Affordable Care Act contains what’s called a
“grandfather” provision that, in theory, allows people to keep their
existing plans if they like them. But subsequent regulations from the
Obama administration interpreted that provision so narrowly as to
prevent most plans from gaining this protection.

“The Departments’ mid-range estimate is that 66 percent of small
employer plans and 45 percent of large employer plans will relinquish
their grandfather status by the end of 2013,” wrote the administration
on page 34552. All in all, more than half of employer-sponsored plans
will lose their “grandfather status” and get canceled. According to the
Congressional Budget Office, 156 million Americans—more than half the
    population—was covered by employer-sponsored insurance in 2013.

As we found out from Lisa Myers’ report Monday, the administration predicted that between 47 and 60 percent of individually-purchased policies would be cancelled under ObamaCare.

Forbes did the math to calculate a total:

51 percent of the employer-based market plus 53.5 percent of the
non-group market (the middle of the administration’s range) amounts to
    93 million Americans.

What this means is that not only did Obama lie when he repeatedly told
Americans that they can keep their plans if they like them, he also lied
in Boston on Wednesday when he said he was referring to the majority of
    Americans covered by their employers.

    Will media report this?

    Stay tuned?

    ###

    So Obama lied. Period!!!

    • 633

Per your estimate: a reasonable analysis/projection. Even more to the point many employers-especially the larger self insured-will curtail their present format, go to a flat grant (health savings format maxed at $2500 tax exempt) and/or pay the penalty. Which means the current typical employee/employer business plan will begin to rapidly erode. That may or may not be a good thing in the long run, but it certainly will hugely disrupt the current state of health coverage.Your point however is right on: the present assertion/defense that 80% of current coverage (the employer contract plan percentage) will be untouched is absurd-and they know it.

    • potemkin_village_usa

It is fallacious, and fraudulent, for the president to add a qualifier to his misleading claim that we could keep our plan/doctor if we liked it. The qualifier he adds changes the context of what he was saying for two years, which makes his statement that that is what he always meant come across as a disenguine foil, a deceitful subterfuge, in order to extricate himself from his apparent fraud in the inducement notwithstanding fraud in the intent.

    • potemkin_village_usa

IF we are to cover 30 million more people AND mandate total coverage for all, THEN it is reasonable to assume that the cost for healthcare will rise dramatically. In a nut-shell, this is what Steve Forbes was saying 3 years ago on all of the cable channels. I read the article you are referring to, and, it is plain common sense!

      • August

You are right! Its common sense!!! That is something Obama supporters have a lack of unfortunately! Sigh!!

        • potemkin_village_usa

Common sense is becoming more and more less common by the rank and file electorate. Could this be an indictment of the educational system in America?

  • itasara

I think he is both but it is hard to tell which one is more predominant. He is clueless in that he thought his little health plan would work and be welcomed by all and not impact health care negatively. He is dishonest either because he knew ahead of time or after the fact that people would lose their insurance and doctors and when he found out and wouldn’t (at least not yet) admit he made a mistake. He is also dishonest because of his lack of leadership in other areas like what happened in Benghazi and some of the other areas that haven’t worked out so well for him.

  • bbf

CLUELESS??? DISHONEST??? How about calling it like it is ..he is a LIAR!!! Stop doing the Bill O’Reilly thing.

    • Eric Johnson

Currently, we KNOW the Obama Admin has lied to us. But, we don’t have a smoking gun that proves Obama knowingly lied to us. Personally, I believe Obama has lied to us many times on the many scandals over the years.

But, I agree with Bill O’Reilly taking the position that he’ll wait till the evidence is conclusive while pointing out the lack of credibility in Obama’s statements in the mean time.

      • potemkin_village_usa

Yes, it is possible that Obama has not lied to the American people in regard to his consecutive scandals, however, it is highly improbable. Yes, it is possible to hit a hole-in-one ten times in a row, but, highly unlikely. Circumstantially speaking, Obama has virtually lied to the American people in regard to keeping our health care plan if we like it.

  • potemkin_village_usa

CLUELESS OR DISHONEST? MOST LIKELY DISHONEST!!

__A guest in a casino gambles at the roulette table putting his money only on black. What is the probability, if the gambler let his money ride for 8 spins of the roulette wheel, that the ball would stop on black with all 8 spins?
The answer is 1 in 256!
__Given all of the Whitehouse advisors in the West Wing whose jobs are to give the President the most accurate, up-to-date intelligence, would it be believable that the President is clueless in regard to the bad acts his administration is deeply involved in?
__Everything from Fast and Furious; to Benghazi; to the targeting
of Tea-Party groups by the IRS; to the NSA spying scandal; to the case of the DOJs seemingly illegal spying on James Rosen and the AP through Eric Holder; and spying on world leaders is a bit far fetched in believing that he knew nothing about these bad acts!!
__The latest claim of cluelessness would be the misinformation he spun to sell Obama Care in the face of official government information to the contrary. When the rare press questions the administration on his odyssey of “’I was never informed’ of” the latest scandal, he would shrug incredulously and say how he probably was as surprised as they were, adding that he probably learned about it on the evening news like everyone else. He promised the American people that they could keep along with their doctor, their acme high deductible health care plan which he knew or should have known was not true. Furthermore, the President made this claim up to two years after federal government, in the federal register, stated that the new regulations will most likely cause 90 million Americans to lose their policies along with their doctors. It begs the question, where is President Obama’s office, in a cave in Tibet where he gets his briefings by bone tossing shamans? Who can honestly believe that his claim of being clueless is coincidental? The circumstantial evidence is clear, he knew, or should have known the particulars from the very beginning in regard to these bad acts by his Whitehouse and his administration!!

  • Roadmaster

Neither – he is a communist/socialist/Marxist dictator and this is how they roll.

Not clueless because this ObamaCare abomination has been in the drawer for probably 60 years, waiting until the people are so stupid and dependent, they’ll willingly line up to be the ultimate suckers.

Not dishonest because being an arrogant, malignant narcissist, he undoubtedly believes if he says it, it must be true. You know, kinda like a god! Instead of garbage in/garbage out we have lies in/lies out. There is no TRUTH in him that we will ever see, but he is being true to his ideology – that being the utter desolation of the USA by any and all means.

AFA is just the tip of the iceberg. More “goodies” are coming, which will entail suspension of property/water rights, freedom of speech, freedom of movement and right to bear arms. When dissidence & civil disobedience reach the necessary level to trigger martial law, we will truly become a police state.

Ask yourself, why would the EPA, IRS, TSA, among others need billions and billions of rounds of ammo, PLUS 3000 or so armored vehicles? We have been declared the “enemy” in our own damn country!

  • Wheels55

Obama is clueless by choice. I am certain that he told his staff to never tell him anything that will make him look bad. Call it clueless by deniability.
That is just being dishonest after he promised to be transparent. What’s worse, he truly thought that he can say anything, even if untrue, and the American public would buy it – and way too many did.

    • Erzsi

On the contrary! I believe that he knows everything, and demand to know everything. He dictates with an iron fist, and nothing passes by him. Everything is by design. He has a protective armor, the color of his skin, and a devoted army, the mainstream media. He skillfully performs being a casual, lovable character who is just too busy to care about everyone and has no time for everything. He is able to fool the uninformed, the “bighearted”, and the young. He “deserves” not just the Nobel peace prize, but an Oscar too. This is a tragic play.

  • beikim

r u kidding me? what a stupid question Bernie!!

    • itasara

What is stupid is that so many Americans did not see thru his rhetoric to begin with. And then after four years of nothing they voted him in again. It was more important for some to vote for his color instead of his ability to be a leader. And I worry that the next time the same people will vote for gender instead of smarts.

      • D Parri

Well, maybe his ACA-II will work out better for folks, although I highly doubt it. It sounds like ObamaCar will just be more of the same forced purchase of a product that is unaffordable, contains options that aren’t needed, and will ultimately ruin the free market industry that now exists. On second thought…ACA-II will be just as bad as ACA-I.

    • potemkin_village_usa

Why is it a stupid question?

  • SkyCitizen

Clueless or dishonest, Mr. Goldberg? Dishonest in the past for sure but I’m voting for clueless this time. It appears the President let his guard down this time and took one on his glass jaw from the insurance industry. It is evident that nobody read the legislation that was written for Congress by an industry that viewed the Affordable Care Act AKA ObamaCare as the first step on the road to single payer and the elimination of the health insurance industry altogether. By acceding to the administration and helping craft the legislation that no one read the insurance industry created the mechanism of cancellation triggered by implementation. I suspect the administration recognised this late in the game and in an effort to ameliorate the impact they delayed implementation for large employers but still having the legislation affecting individuals and small employers who really don’t count on the democrats electoral map. The promises which have proven to be untrue of keeping your plan, doctor and reduced premiums are simply icing on the cake. I am heartened by this victory of capitalism over the entitlement state. Please excuse me while I warm my feet near the ashes of Obamacare.

President Obama is not only “clueless” but I would say 99 % dishonest/sleezey, deceitful, ruthless and doesn’t give a “rats ass” that he is destroying the United States of America..He is a dictator and it is proven throughout history that dictators are only interested in themselves and to hell with the people.. Don’t have to be a “conservative” to have the intellectual smarts to know this President wouldn’t know how to tell the truth if his two daughter’s lives depended on it or hit across the head with a two by four…Or tar and feathered running down the road screaming he is being misjudged. Ask the loved ones (Benghazi) of Ambassador Stevens and the families of the heros who disregarded the “stand down who died trying to save our Ambassador and others because Obama and his mofiosa at the White House didn’t provide the military support Ambassador Stevens begged for prior to the terrorist attack that killed him and other American heros. Ask the loved one whose son died from “fast and furious.” guns being sold to the Cartel..Ask those who are being and going to be screwed by his joke “affordable care act/aka Obama care lies, lies, lies. Ask those who were being targeted by the IRS, etc. Not to forget the Social Security and Medicare. People who worked hard all their lives. 8 to 80 hours a week and paid into SS and earned the right of Medicare Those very good Americans that believed in our government/until Obama was elected. To quote Nancy Pelosit when questioned by the press about the Obama Health Care. Response: Parapharasing. WELL…WE WON’T KNOW UNTIL THE BILL IS PASSED AND THEN WE WILL TAKE THE TIME TO READ IT.

  • Chuck_Borealis

Obama could claim the sun would not rise tomorrow morning, and the clueless Obamabots would say the inevitable daylight was the result of some right-wing conspiracy or possibly proof of anthropomorphic global warming.

  • Ron Bon Jovi

For crying out loud! Where is legal eagle when you need him.

    • legal eagle

I was waiting to see how many members of the bitter old white guy club chimed in on their latest hate fest?
Hating Obama is something which unites all of the club members. Let’s hope they get it out of their systems so they can start hating Hillary when she becomes the POTUS…

      • Wheels55

We don’t hate Obama. We just wish him an immediate retirement.
Hillary won’t make it as President – she has too much to answer for with Benghazi and her position on many issues.

        • legal eagle

Exactly my point about Hillary….start the hate now and build gradually so you can reach a crescendo in November 2016…then rest for two months, then restart the hate end of January 2017….
          Right wingers are so predictable…

          • http://johndalybooks.com/ John Daly

I’m curious, legal. Does this routine of constantly telling us we’re haters, instead of accepting that we object to chronic incompetence and damaging policies, help you live in denial over the things going on in this country right now?

Does it let you cling to your instinctive, partisan beliefs about important issues?

Because, in case you haven’t noticed, the people on this website don’t run off the assumption that you’re a hater, despite your routine, irrational claims. Thus, it makes it easy to actually address the things you write instead of shouting at a wall, like you’re intent on doing.

          • Integrity

John, I think he is intellectually dishonest. I just don’t know whether it is intentional or not. Since he has yet to recant or prove the allegations that he previously made against Congressman Issa in this forum, that leads me to believe his dishonesty is most likely intentional. I am not sure whether he is a cultist or not, but he sure does seem to have an obsessive, especially faddish, devotion to or veneration for Obama and Clinton. QED

          • legal eagle

            John,
There are comments on this site by certain people that are irrational and hateful…There are other commenters that are thoughtful and insightful. My comments are meant to respond to particular comments and should not be taken out of context…..

          • http://johndalybooks.com/ John Daly

I’m not sure you know what “context” means, legal. When someone criticizes Obama, and you respond by calling them a ‘bitter old white guy’, how am I taking you out of context by merely pointing that out?

      • George Williams

Hillary will never become POTUS, especially when the truth about Benghazi comes out next week. As for Obama, there’s a rational reason to hate a man who’s violated the COTUS and lied to the American people by stating that they can keep their insurance policies and doctors and that their new policies will be cheaper. Unfortunately for you progressive (or should I say communists), the reality of Obamacare is nothing like the utopia that you promised. Obama and his sycophants (that means you) are totally discredited in the eyes of the people. And it will only get worse for you. Obama’s ratings will drop even further when the employer mandate causes over a hundred million to have their policies terminated and face the reality of higher premiums, co-pays and deductibles, or finding themselves with Medicare and all that entails. I think Obama is facing thirty percent polls, probably the worst a president has ever experienced. LOL! Obama will be more reviled than Bush by the end of his term. People will remember all of this when they pull the levers in 2014 and 2016. Obama could face a veto proof Congress and have his whole agenda rolled back. LOL! If you really believe that people wont’ blame Hillary too, think again, silly man. The Democrats have met their Waterloos, not only for 2014, but for 2016 and beyond. The shutdown was bad for the Republicans, but people are more impressed when Democrats destroy their pocket books. Here’s to hating Obama and Hillary and that it grows beyond all bounds. Your part is through. What’s richer it is by their own arrogant hand. LOL!

      • Joe Adams

Hey beagle! From a happy member of your bitter old white guy club to a happy member of your bitter old black guy club: we abhor the Obama dolt because he mindlessly destroys our country’s finances. This guy is like Jerry Lewis in “The Executive Suite”. Whether he lies habitually or is habitually stupid, the country suffers. As usual, you and your crowd will suffer most.

  • falcon7204

I choose “all of the above.”

  • Ernesto Del Toro

he;s both and he does not hide it. remember this, Government can lie to you and you can go after them, while you can’t lie to them cause they can go after you.

  • Nicholas344

Obama wantrs to transform a free America into statist slavery. This would require single payer health insurance. When the insurance companies are gone and Obamacare cannot work, what is left other than single payer? Not so clueless to me and honesty is secondary to the goals of the Progressive/Alinsky agenda

  • RoscoeBonifitucci

Ps. Great article Bernie. Kudos. Keep up the good fight.

  • RoscoeBonifitucci

The rest of the World know Obama is a Socialist Buffoon with a penchant for Lies, Deceit, Fraud and Crime. When will the Low Information Voter Dimwits who elected this Looter start to wake up? Can America throw out this modern King George III? It is only a matter of time when we Producers (Tax Payers) take matters into our own hands to remove this Marxist Moron called Obama from OUR White House. Impeachment for this Criminal and his henchmen Holder, Sebelius and Reid is imminent. They will be eventually put into Federal Prison. May God Bless America with their demise we pray. Amen.

    • Lee

Although I very strongly agree with you, I just don’t think there is enough to impeach this lying moron. We have talked about his background that he PAID to cover up and it got nowhere. So what says we will get anywhere now due to Obamacare.

  • Gloria

I pick dishonest. He is not clueless, he knew what he wanted to do when he promised to ‘fundamentally transform’ our once great country, and he systematically set out to do just that with the help of our lopsided Congress. Starting with yet another fat federal bureaucracy which costs way more than it was supposed to, works way worse than it has to, and succeeds in its intention to help the few at the expense of the many, little by little his goals are being met. And to him, the ends justify the means.

    • Ernesto Del Toro

Exactly, he is doing what he said he was going to do, The problem is, that 69% of the population has no clue what Transform means.

      • Gloria

You’re right. And/or they believed that our country was somehow in need of transformation – even though they were clueless as to what that transformation would be. As for me, when he said that I said “Why? I like my country just the way it is.” It may not be perfect but it is pretty darn close and who knows what this guy has in mind. He was, as he is now, an extreme liberal with socialistic ideas to transform our USA into Europe. And look what’s happening over there!

        • itasara

Nancy Pelosi is a good example of the kind of goverment Obama wanted… just accept and don’t read the fine print or even the print at all!

      • Kathie Ampela

That’s the whole point Ernesto, they had no clue what Transform means. Obama had to lie about Obamacare because he knew they didn’t want “fundamental transformation” if they understood what that meant. So many people, maybe half the country, maybe more, have a false consciousness. I know people like this in my everyday life. It’s only in the past 30 days they’re getting the idea. I live in NY and as I write this a far left mayor has been elected. This is a snapshot of what’s happening nationally, people have no clue but they are in for a rude awakening. I predict a tsunami of change is coming starting next year, this is only the beginning.

    • itasara

Now that I read this I rather agree. I think he did have an agenda that was not honest to begin with and maybe he was a little clueless in that he thought it would work really well, but I think he was more dishonest in how he went about this and the country is not better off for his ideals.

  • redrowan2000

The question should not be “or”. He’s a multifaceted liar and inept executive, that is taking this country down the tubes faster than anyone ever expected. Well, except for himself.

  • Chuck

He’s not clueless at all. He’s plenty dishonest, plus ruthlessly determined. He said his goal is to “fundamentally transform America,” and he’s doing just that. Obamacare is the engine that makes it happen. He’s not that concerned about his approval ratings; he already won reelection and is free to ram more through, whether through executive order or whatever. He gets the last laugh, just as he planned.

    • Erzsi

You got it exactly right! No he is not clueless at all! “Ruthlessly determined”, yes! So aggressively confident too, that he doesn’t mind to look clueless, learn things from the news (ha-ha!), act like he was just reading the teleprompter.
I am not sure about the “last laugh” though. He miscalculated this one.

      • Chuck

He gets the last laugh because no matter the public outcry, the law will stand and his Trojan Horse to reshape America will continue rolling inexorably forward. What he miscalculated was that he could get away with another lie and stonewall. He is paying a price for that, but again, he’s got his eye on the big picture, and that’s all that counts for him.

        • Erzsi

This is just way too pessimistic for me to accept. He miscalculated the American spirit. Whoever thought that communism (I lived under) will fall.

          • legal eagle

So you came here to be a hater?

          • Integrity

Hey LE, have you ever had a conversation with someone that actually lived under communism? It is quite enlightening. It might actually make you think. On second thought, I doubt it would. QED

          • Erzsi

Actually, I love America. But I have a great sense to detect a communist. I was mortified when I heard the very first speech of Obama, it sounded frighteningly familiar. However, I still think that the Americans love for freedom will prevail.

          • Lc Goodfellow

Go, Ol’Crow, please, go find j copper and reread the ‘Preacher’ said to “Thee”

        • itasara

Well I hope the big picture ends up on the “cutting room floor” because he does not deserve this use legacy he may want. What good is a legacy if his policies end up destroying our country’s ideals. Yes we do need to do something about health care but not the way he went and is going about it- to force people into it or pay a “tax” or fine?

  • Ed in Albany

Either clueless OR dishonest? What do you mean, “or”?

  • Quant

The effectiveness may be measured by the number of Congressmen willing to ditch their present health care program. What a disaster!

  • 633

Actually he is likely both. Clueless and dishonest. Re the dishonest: he certainly knew that many individual policies would be canceled. And he and his minions continue to say the 80% of Americans with coverage via corporate contracts will be unaffected: that assertion is absurd. Corporate benefits administrators are already responding to the business mandate by initiating change. Many will substitute health savings accounts coupled with the penalty in lieu maintenance of their present group plans, particularly the self insured companies. However on the clueless side I’m convinced he and HHS didn’t grasp the timing and business plan issues involved: the ACA calendar year cycle virtually mandated a termination cascade effect for individual policyholders, and I really believe they greatly underestimated that (for reasons too complicated to elaborate here). Certainly the four month period to reach minimum mass enrollment has no precedent-they were counting on technology to fill that gap. And both sides of the aisle believed that entitlements are generically popular and publicly inviolate, based on the Medicare and Social Security history. Those initiatives were however low cost (initially) transfer payments that simply provided benefits where nothing previously existed. The ACA essentially will at a minimum dislocate millions of prior plans, many of which will obviously not be replaced by equivalent coverage at comparable cost. When I pointed out this dislocation factor (my terminology) to a sitting Democratic Congressman he said to me in all seriousness (I swear) “I never thought of that”.

    • itasara

I think a good protest would be to vote most of if not all demomcratic liberal congressman out, but I doubt it will happen. Already NYC voted in a liberal democratic mayor who plans already to raise taxes on “the rich.”. What about cutting spending and waste?

  • GailWehling

I think he is NOT clueless. He has a major plan to destroy this Country, if we clueless people continue to do nothing, make excuses for him, After all he is black. Not really, only 1/2 but none the less we have given him kingship. For shame. He deserves IMPEACHMENT–right now!!!!

    • itasara

What else can we do? I already mentioned that we as a nation are probably going to continue to vote in the same old same olds… Maybe we all should not get health insurance and bombard the hospitals every time we get sick…but that isn’t going to happen either. The medical costs are way to high for us pay for them. The costs of medications are way out of control b/c the insurance companies pay for a lot of them but then when it gets to high they try to refuse us the meds we need or want. The last thing we should do is vote in someone like Hillary because of her gender — but I think it could happen.. because I can’t think of anything off hand that she has done to deserve the highest post in the land, but boy, a lot of liberal Americans want her… same mistake..

  • Drew Page

If the President’s statement, “if you like your current health plan, you can keep it, period.” was the only time he “misspoke”, I might be willing to extend the benefit of the doubt to him. But in light of his other comments:
    * Mine will be the most transparent administration ever.”
    * We will bring doctors, hospital administrators, representatives of the pharmaceutical and health insurance industries along with bi-partisan members of Congress to a round table debate on health care reform and televise it on C-SPAN.”
    * “We will post proposed legislation on the internet for five days before signing it into law.”
    * “We will use the Stimulus to repair America’s infrastructure and put thousands of Americans back to work on ‘shovel ready’ jobs.”
“I attended Reverend Wright’s church for 20 years and never heard him make disparaging remarks about America.”
    * “I will cut the deficit in half by the end of my first term.”
    * “I will close Gitmo detention center by the end of my first year in office.”
    * “I knew nothing about Fast & furious.”
    * “I knew nothing about the IRS targeting conservative groups and individuals.”
    * “I knew nothing about NSA spying on millions of Americans’ phone records and e-mails, or foreign heads of state.”
    * “The attacks on our embassies in Egypt and Benghazi were the result of an anti-Muslim video tape.”
“We did everything we could to save the for Americans killed at the Benghazi consulate.”
    * We are investigating what happened in Benghazi and will report back to the American people.”
“It is outrageous and unacceptable for the IRS to treat people differently and unfairly based on their party affiliation. I will get to the bottom of this.”
“Benghazi, the IRS, the NSA, the DOJ seizing phone records of the Associated Press and its reporters are all phony scandals.”
Were all of these statements simply misspoken? If they were, we need to redefine the word “lie” in our dictionaries. Why do you suppose journalists caution young reporters with the instruction, “If your mother says she loves you, check it out.”

    • helplessinil

Give the man a break, he did tell the truth once that I remember. When he said, “Those shovel ready jobs weren’t so shovel ready”.
      So is it:
      A. He has an incompetent staff; he hired them so he should be able to fire them.
      B. He has a “loyal” staff that did not inform him of the details to “protect” him.
      C. He is just incompetent himself and has no leadership experience.
      D. Or he knew all along about the details but wanted the law passed at any cost, so he just lied to the general public.

  • mcweijun

I’m going for all of the above Bernie. However, the sad truth is, no matter how bad this rolls out, the left will still bow down and give him a big wet kiss right where he likes it. They would rather die than admit that their liberal progressive college education actually sucked all of their logic and common sense right our of their ear. Debt limit will be 30 trillion by the time Hillary’s 8 years are done.

  • RickonhisHarleyJohnson

In this case, I think he is dishonest, Bernie. The sad truth is even at 40% approval for him, Hillary Clinton has a good chance in 2016. Our culture is continuing to deteriorate and though she is at least as far to the left as Obama, too many voters haven’t a clue.

  • Debdeb

Pres. Obama’s poll numbers are low. Does it matter? He has no need to be elected again.
Clueless, dishonest? You are assuming the reference point for judgment is to the American people. Pres. Obama probably did what he promised the party – he passed into law a platform for healthcare and made certain it went forward [no matter how badly]. And so he was skillful and honest and successful in his promise to the party. All the other details, they were just tactics to the promise.

    • Drew Page

Let’s see how many in his party are going enjoy the deductibles, out-of-pocket limits and monthly premium rates of the Obama Care options.

  • Art

This president has been dishonest about Obamacare since day 1. It confirms Nancy Pelosi’s comments “now that we passed the bill we can find out what is in it”
If the president read it he may not have mand so many statements about how good it is. Healthcare will be attached to O’Bama for decades.

    JOE WILSON WAS RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Buzzeroo

A liar is a liar no matter what his color is. His boot licking media has shielded him till now by simply not reporting his horrendous performance which contained lie upon lie. It is clear as a bell that he fully expected the usual cooperative coverage on this load—but, because it is biting the part of the populace that pays the bills, combined with his over the top recorded repetitive recitals of his highly damaging lies —they are not there for him.

Obamacare will wreak havoc and ruin upon America and it is clear that it never would have come to pass were it not for Obama’s damnably filthy lying harangues. He will wear this turd around his neck forever as will every single democrat fool that backed him without reading the destructive unworkable junk that his silly stupid staff produced. THIS IS TRULY A DISASTER.

    • Drew Page

The disaster hasn’t really manifested itself yet. Once the website is up and running and people get a good look at what the four options are, the size of the deductibles, coinsurance percentages, out -of-pocket limits and monthly premium rates are, many people’s blood will quickly begin to boil, not of those who will be getting the coverage for free, but of those who will end up paying for those who do not.
The penalties for failure to comply with the mandates are not sizeable enough to prevent people from non-compliance. Businesses will save thousands of dollars per employee, per year by dropping their health plans and paying the $2,000 per employee, per year fine. Young and healthy individuals will not enroll and pay the fine (the greater of 1% of annual income, or $95.00) which is a lot cheaper than the monthly rate of even the cheapest Obama Care option. If and when these people have a medical problem that needs treatment, they can enroll at that time and can’t be turned down. After receiving treatment and getting their bills paid, they can drop out of coverage and pay the fine again, only to repeat the process if and when they again need insurance. There is nothing in the ACA to prevent this. That is exactly why the ACA will fail.

If you tell the same lie over and over again it becomes the truth in most listeners minds–That’s what happens when we listen to Pelosi–‘SIGNIT THEN READ IT”
All republicans should be voted out of office who executed this idiotic doctrine. All lawyers should be disbarred. All members of congress should be mandated to participate in this law.
The problem is simple. We are afraid of a new civil war if we take the same measures against Obama that we took against Nixon. Isn’t ” I am not a crook” equal to ” you can keep the same plan & you can keep the same doctor and $2500.00 with be the typical families saving”
The “new Black Panthers ” have obviously empowered the “old black panthers” i.e., Obama and Holder.
Being black is now being untouchable in the eyes of the democrats . It is shameful-But it is the way it is

    • itasara

Well in some points I agree but vote out all the republicans? Pelosi isn’t a republican. The President isn’t a republican. How about vote out all the liberal democrats? I was always a democrat but am moving to change that to independent. Both extremes are not good but lately I see more sense in more republicans than I do on the democratic side.

  • Buzzeroo

Fact: What he said–for the record–on indelible tape-was absolutely false. The choice between calling him a liar or a uninformed dupe is one equivalent to a choice between imbibing cyanide or ground glass both which having the same ultimate result.
However, the content of his speech last night removes all doubt, By saying that he didn’t say what millions upon millions heard him say—and supported him and his policy as a result–he has shown himself to be an unmitigated liar—with only one other possible conclusion and that would be that he is as stupidly dumb as a box of rocks.
Take your pick—they all stink on hot ice and prove him to be a totally untrustworthy leader of our country or our representative to the rest of the world.

Is any of this news? When the debate on the implementation of this law was at it’s peak, one way to stop it was to defund it. But instead of standing behind those who wanted to totally stop this huge train wreak, we went on a high pitch attack mode thrashing Ted Cruz more than the democrats would have done. Our intelligentsia’s answer was let it fail, so we will know how bad it is. Well now you see millions losing their jobs, their insurance and no going back to their insurance again. Unless you push back hard against their hardcore leftist you have no chance making a dent either in the policy making or in general in elections.

The democrats and the msm lied to the American people from the git go. His entire term in office has been one big lie. The lies coming out of his mouth defy any sense of honor. He is the consum, ate huckster and Clint showed just how empty he is. There is no shame in the democratic party, they only interest they have is in themselves, not the USA.

  • Swampfox1965

    Yes.

  • joepotato

Bernie, is that a rhetorical question? Care to count a few previous lies? Benghazi, Fast & Felonious, IRS, and the NSA are just the short list for Obama bin Lyin…. Let’s dig… So was Obie’s bio on his book a lie… when it stated “Born in Kenya, raised in Indonesia and Hawaii…? Or is the lie about him being born in Hawaii…? Documented evidence points to forgery and fraud re the LFBC and other documents… Who is this Obie bin Lyin character anyway…?

  • JBubs

Bernie, by setting up a false dichotomy you are showing all that you are the who is clueless. The Socialist/Liberal/Progressive operating principle has always been and always will be this: 1) You have got to break some eggs to make an omelet. 2) The end always justifies the means. I am typing the next 3 sentences slowly for you, Bernie so try to pay attention. The eggs in this case are the legal, valid health insurance plans and the companies and customers that own them. The end is the Federal Single Payer system, justified by the lie, “If you like your current plan you can keep it. If you like your doctor you can keep him, period.” So, no Obama is far from clueless, and in progressive language he is actually the Minister of Truth. You are clueless further because the number of voters who are now on the federal public dole outnumber slightly those who are not, and If immigration reform passes the new Democrat Presidential Candidate who will be Socialist/Liberal/Progressive Hillary Clinton will win easily. And the Republic which is now in its death throes will finally be dead, killed at last by the Progressive agenda.

    • Stimpy

IBD brought out another thing that our fearless leader is up to. Any high up military commander who has the temerity to act contrary to O’Bama’s wishes is quietly sacked. The Army general and Navy Admiral that wished to respond to Benghazi have already been relieved of their commands. The list of purges is not a short one. Stalin would be so proud of his honorary son.

      • JBubs

I remember reading that, and I am with you, brother!.

    • Josh

“Mr. Obama is either clueless or dishonest. Take your pick.”

How is that a false dichotomy? He either intentionally lied, or unintentionally lied. That is the dichotomy. For your numbers 1 and 2, they fall into the “dishonest” category. For your insistence that it’s all a sham to institute single-payer, that falls into “dishonest.”

You take the dichotomy laid out and refuse to use the split. Instead, you only use one half of it: Clueless.

Everything you’re saying about Obama’s motives, whether true or not, fits perfectly into the dichotomy.

The irony being, of course, the amount of times you claimed the author “clueless.”

      • JBubs

The dichotomy was set up by Bernie, and it is false. In the article Bernie gives not one piece of evidence to support his clueless claim, because there is none. Bernie used the clueless label to describe the voters. Bernie of course knows this and a writer who does this is actually being disingenuous, not clueless, and is purposely muddying the water. But I am sure Bernie gets my meaning. Truth is Obama has been politically careless at times –as when he made remarks off script or into an unseen live microphone, which allowed us to see his mask slip– but Barrack Obama is not clueless and never was. Obama is a shrewd con man, which requires intelligence. However a con man is usually far from being the genius as Obama was proclaimed to be early on. The genius mask was removed awhile ago. Yet even the con man himself once admitted, “You can’t put lipstick on a pig.”

        • Josh

If you feel evidence is lacking for Obama being clueless, while believing all evidence paints Obama as dishonest, then you are throwing your eggs in one of the two baskets. You are reinforcing the dichotomy. They are exclusive, separate groups: Clueless, or dishonest.

If you’re choosing “dishonest,” that doesn’t mean that “clueless” cannot possibly an option. It just means you don’t believe it to be true, because you see him as solely dishonest. Someone else can see the same things you see and draw the conclusion that he’s just clueless, not dishonest. Someone else may agree, as Bernie stated, that, perhaps, Obama was like Pelosi and didn’t know what was in it.

If you were sitting on a jury and didn’t believe the evidence was strong enough for murder, that doesn’t mean there was no evidence presented.

There is no informal fallacy; logically, it’s just as likely that Obama had no idea what was in the bill or what it would do. There is also no lack of options to make it a false dichotomy.

It’s like Caliendo’s great Madden bit: “There are two kinds of things — things that happen inside of the NFL, and things that happen outside of the NFL.” As humorous as that is in Frank’s voice, it’s correct. The same here. Any possibility can fall under one of the categories: Clueless or dishonest. They’re infinitely broad yet not black or white.

You selecting one over the other doesn’t negate the dichotomy. It reinforces it. Now, if it were neither or more, then you’re on to something.

          • JBubs

The burden of proof is on the one who makes the claim. I do not claim Obama is clueless, Bernie does.

He offered no evidence only speculation for he also provides no evidence that Pelosi is clueless. If you think Obama is clueless, Josh, please provide evidence. Until then Obama will remain solely a dishonest con man, which is required of him because he is a Socialist. BTW, the analogy you provided in your last paragraph is false.

          • Josh

The mind projection fallacy is what’s skewing the hue here. Not to mention the lost contrast where one of the correlative options is being suppressed.

Where you see an intentional liar and a con man, others see a clueless schmuck — using the same evidence we all have available to us: His many “I didn’t know” speeches; the speed with which the legislation was passed through and the overwhelming odds that the President did not read the bill; Obama’s role as Campaigner-in-Chief where his attention to detail only extends as far as what aids whisper to him in down moments and opportunities for war-room photos, etc.

Both claims have a burden of proof when definitively made. The thing is, this dichotomy does not require it. It relies on what we objectively know.

            It’s rather easy to track:

What Obama said is demonstrably untrue. That is objective. Now, you have only two options available here. Either he lied intentionally, or he did so unintentionally.

That is what’s presented, because those are the options. You get to choose which you believe! There is no claim being made there. At all. It’s pointing out the logical options available pertaining to Obama’s false claims. YOU get to choose–and have obviously chosen–yet still demand a burden of proof for a mere option.

You choose dishonest. You choose intentional.

But that you’re wrong and he lied unintentionally (which falls under “clueless”) is still the other possibility. That possibility does not cease to exist just because you believe he was intentionally lying.

To claim definitively that there is only one option puts the burden of proof squarely on your shoulders. You’re the one making the claim.

To point out the two possible options is doing only that.

            It’s very simple.

And you can still despise Obama to your absolute maximum capacity and still both possibilities exist.

          • JBubs

Please stay earthbound, Josh. I never said I despised Obama, so your own “hew is skewed” (a lovely phrase!) by your own ‘mind fallacy” –if there is such a thing, but a thing of which I lack knowledge, which means that my hew is skewed about mind fallacy, but of which I now have the knowledge, which means my mind fallacy about mind fallacy itself means…that mind fallacy is post-modern gibberish. As for Obama, I “know” him only by how he allows himself to be presented via electronic media, which is staged. Even if I did know him I could “despise” not him as a person, but by his actions. The issue now is that for more and more observers there is now an obvious disconnect between his rhetoric and the results of his actions. The way I see it (mind fallacy notwithstanding) the results of human action are either by accident, or by design, or by a mix of both. However, the pattern of the results of Obama’s actions is consistent with my first 2 assertions and the necessary conclusion that he is a lying con-man. The point is this: One can really be clueless on how an egg is made and still succeed in breaking it. The result is same. Remember that for Obama the end always justifies the means.

          • Josh

I never said you did despise him. I said you could, and still those possibilities exist.

To rephrase it: You could think he was the antichrist mixed with a reincarnation of Hitler with a double dose shot of Stalin steroids in his thigh every day, and still he is bound by the same logic we all are; e.g. someone who speaks an untruth does so either intentionally or unintentionally. That is the dichotomy…because those are the exclusive options. That is objective reality.

A statement of fact doesn’t cease to be a fact based on opinion.

What you’re speaking about now seems to be far removed from what you were speaking about before. And trying to read through your thought process revolving around one simple term is like watching someone with synesthesia trying to stay calm at the carnival. It’s a bit shaky.

You were trying to argue against logic and factual statements, such as “Obama is either clueless or dishonest.” You were stating that “clueless” was a claim, despite the fact that a statement of fact (the dichotomy) is quite the opposite of a claim.

I have no interest in the rest, as I originally responded to the claim of the “false dichotomy,” and that’s as far as I’m going.

Suffice it to say that I’m no fan of the ACA.

          • JBubs

Josh, Thank you for the interesting but irrelevant discussion. This is not a philosophy blog. The fact that I seem to (to you) far from what I was speaking about before is false. It is you who are tangential. If you feel comfortable only when you continually jump down a semantic rabbit hole, then that is your prerogative. I was not going there before, and I am outta here now…

          • Josh

Claiming something is false when it is not false and calling “semantics” when pointed out is quite a stretch.

Calling something a “claim” that is a statement of fact is not something a little lost in linguistics.

Saying that it’s not a philosophy blog — that’s where you can start to get into semantics. After all, what is a political position if not a philosophy?

But that’s neither here nor there.

You called Goldberg “clueless” and used a supposed “false dichotomy” as a reason for leveling an insult against him.

I pointed out that it was not a false dichotomy but actually a factual statement of the logical groups: Intentional, unintentional.

Of course, you can have it both ways if you wish; you can have it any old way(s) you want. You can argue that you’re correct while simultaneously implying that one shouldn’t correct it, lest it becomes “semantics.” But don’t expect that someone may not call you to task for it on a public forum. If getting “outta here” is the response, take care.

I mean, it’s not like I’m piling on. You replied right back with a firm, lengthy position reiterating and reinforcing your initial statement.

So, if you can dish it…

Is Obama Clueless — or Dishonest?

    BOTH !!!

  • joe

He is a man with a plan. He KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT HE IS DOING. It is absolutely terrifying what he is doing for this country. He has an agenda. And that is a single-payer system. The door is open wide for it, and that is e exactly how he planned it. He is not called to task on his deeds, becasue when one does, the race card is pulled. He is HOLDING THIS COUNTRY HOSTAGE through race. oBAMA IS THE RACIST.

    • fitzsimmons Photography

Joe, Don’t you mean it’s terrifying what’s happening TO THIS COUNTRY not for!!

      • joe

yes, fitzsimmons, to this country, a passionate typo!

    • Drew Page

I agree. Obama does have a plan and knows exactly what he is doing. The plan is embodied in the Cloward & Piven strategy and every move he makes works toward its implementation comes out of Alinsky’s book, Rules for Radicals.
A big problem is that 99.9% of the American public have never heard of Cloward & Piven or their strategy. And I dare say that 99.5% of the population never read Alinsky’s book. Obama is taking the country down the road to socialism with this strategy, using the tactics contained in Alinsky’s book.
Bernie, I would love to hear you deliver a three minute synopsis on the Cloward & Piven strategy and Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals, if you can get O’Reilly to let you do it. If he won’t, you could do an article on it here.

  • RedinDenver

He’s not ‘clueless’ — He’s arrogant and dishonest.

Obama’s denial yesterday that he ever indicated people could keep their plan is THE BIGGEST, MOST PROVABLE LIE YET. And there is a long list of false denials he’s made about the myriad scandals over the last few years. With this most recent BLATANT LIE, he’s now obviously given up all
pretense of honesty, and has decided most citizens are wiling to
ignore the dozens of times he said what he now denies he said.

Forget what that says about him. WHAT DOES THAT SAY about what he
    thinks of us?

    • itasara

      I agree. I couldn’t believe how he justified this lie…”what I mean was…” Wow…

  • docww

    Bernie:
Ouch! As I said when he was re-elected, it would be good for our entertainment value to see him re-elected and now I know I was right. This dude doesn’t know whether he is on foot or horseback when it comes to running the country. You voted for him so you got him–good luck with that.

  • Kevin

    He’s both.

  • Bryan

Bernie, this discussion simply drives me crazy. Does anyone even pay attention to the words that any liberal uses….on video?….in full color and stereo?

I have watched about fifty times a video that Obama made during a campaign speech back in 2007 or 2008 (I can’t remember the exact date). In this speech, standing in front of the cameras and a bunch of supporters, he clearly states words to the effect of “I believe in a single-payer healthcare system, but politically we can’t get that far in one step. We’re going to have to do this one step at a time”. He says this plain as day.

Ever since this whole healthcare situation started, I have found it easy to recognize this very step-by-step process in action. Step 1: Create a new government system for regulating/delivering healthcare. Step 2: Impose laws (in the name of “protecting” the disadvantaged/uninsured, of course) that make the healthcare marketplace unworkable for private insurance companies and employer providers, driving them to drop coverage and run the private health insurance companies out of business. Step 3: Look innocently mystified when the private healthcare system collapses. Step 4: Say “Well, we didn’t mean for that to happen, but now that there’s NO OTHER OPTION, we’re now forced to impose a single-payer system because of this unexpected crisis”.

The whole thing is as obvious and plain as day, and the man said himself that that’s what he wanted to do!

Why the heck is everyone trying to “analyse the rationale” of this? It’s freakin’ obvious!

    • ulyssesmsu

You’re probably right, and when America becomes the 57 Socialist States of Amerikka because of this arrogant, destructive man, those who voted for him can be proud of what they accomplished in destroying the greatest nation that ever existed.

YES, he can be both, and he IS. It doesn’t have to be an ‘either/or’ situation, and I don’t know why Bernie stated it that way. Obama is both ‘clueless’ in terms of being out of touch with average Americans; and he’s also dishonest — in terms of almost everything.

  • nickshaw

How about both Pelosi and Skeeter are liars?
You can’t tell me that the “smartest man in the room” couldn’t figure out the implications of forcing insurance companies to offer government mandated services and coverage for pre-existing conditions at relatively normal premium rates without somebody having to pony up big bucks.
As to the lie that you could keep your policy if you liked it, only an idiot could believe that!
He had to lie to get it passed (and to get re-elected).
Remember what Bubba said about Byrd and what he “had” to do to get elected?
Liberals lie to get votes. Period.
    Not that Republicans don’t!
It’s just that Repubs always pay for their lies. And it’s usually more likely a Repub will call out another for their lies.
    That doesn’t happen with Dems.

Sadly, she is absolutely correct! In addition, he is “clueless” AND he is “dishonest”. He is just a street smart liar whose gift is: He speaks very well and he knows what to say to the idiots whose votes he has “bought”. For whatever reason, many have bought into his nonsense and we have elected him President of the United States … twice. What does that say about US?

    • Bear589

Lark2 — read up on narcissistic personality disorder. You’ll find it interesting. I know what Obama is because I had to deal with a relative for 50 years who exhibited all 10 of the classic indicators. However, I believe in the case of my relative, it was a psuedopathology rather than a bona-fide mental health issue; in other words, it was a CHOICE.. Obama so exactly duplicates the indicators demonstrated by my relative that I believe this is the case with him also: it is a choice, not a legitimate condition.

  • kayakbob

I am not sure “honesty” would have cost him the election. Revelations that they knew the “you can keep it” line wasn’t true at the time, has only caused the true believers to lash out at those revealing that timeline, not the implications of that timeline.

No, I suspect those defending him now are really just defending themselves in their own eyes. They have made a (now) conscious decision to lash out at the damning truth rather than face their own gullibility, and participation in it.

  • Hammockbear

Clueless, dishonest and perhaps being told what to say and do. Valerie Jarrett has a most impressive bio and after reading about her, could She be telling him what to say and do??? I’m not blinded and or seduced by his flattering speeches, so this man is dishonest but his supporters won’t admit this.

    • itasara

I didn’t vote for him the first time because of his flattering speeches and because of his history of staying in a church with a prejudice minister until he quite to enhance his political career. So obvious to me of his insincerity. What I don’t get being in NYS why so many are liberal blue staters. Makes no sense. I would vote for someone like Dr. Ben Carson because he has been in the real world, he talks sense, and gee he is Black, but that is not what is important except that he brings in a rational sense — but most New Yorkers are not going to see this. Most of the time people I talk to don’t even know who he is. But he is too smart to run for President, unfortunately.

I don’t believe obama is clueless…. he refuses to accept responsibility for his actions (or inactions) and all the lies he spews. He can stand there and declare he “wasn’t aware” of whatever … because he doesn’t have to face any CONSEQUENCES!

    The LSM has been his personal propaganda machine…they NEVER speak unkindly of him or towards him. He can let any scandal roll of his back, with his “liberal” grin.     1. Feels grandiose and self-important (e.g., exaggerates accomplishments, talents, skills, contacts, and personality traits to the point of lying, demands to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements);

    2. Is obsessed with fantasies of unlimited success, fame, fearsome power or omnipotence, unequalled brilliance (the cerebral narcissist), bodily beauty or sexual performance (the somatic narcissist), or ideal, everlasting, all-conquering love or passion;

    3. Firmly convinced that he or she is unique and, being special, can only be understood by, should only be treated by, or associate with, other special or unique, or high-status people (or institutions);

    4. Requires excessive admiration, adulation, attention and affirmation – or, failing that, wishes to be feared and to be notorious (Narcissistic Supply);

    5. Feels entitled. Demands automatic and full compliance with his or her unreasonable expectations for special and favorable priority treatment;

    6. Is “interpersonally exploitative”, i.e., uses others to achieve his or her own ends;

    7. Devoid of empathy. Is unable or unwilling to identify with, acknowledge, or accept the feelings, needs, preferences, priorities, and choices of others;

    8. Constantly envious of others and seeks to hurt or destroy the objects of his or her frustration. Suffers from persecutory (paranoid) delusions as he or she believes that they feel the same about him or her and are likely to act similarly;

Clueless or dishonest? It HAS to be dishonest. What everyone is overlooking is that any time a President makes a public statement it has to be first vetted by an small army of staff whose sole job is to clear what he is about to say from political fallout. You can therefore be SURE that Obama HAD to know EXACTLY what he was saying back then (over 20 times), and there is now PROOF (a memo) that his staff did argue about what to say about “Keep your doctor, period…..keep your..health plan etc.” – back in 2010 – and the political side WON. So you can take it to the bank that of course HE KNEW!!

    • J.W.

The fact is, Mr. O never admits mistakes; therefore, his only alternative is to “double down” and keep repeating them as fact, as evidenced most clearly in the “keep your plan / doctor” statements and blaming a video for the Benghazi attack. Sorry, dishonest and clueless are not mutually exclusive. It has been obvious for some time that the Community Organizer Chicago Con Man is both. This president has lied to us about everything beginning with that enormous boondoggle that was the stimulus plan. Remember? It was going to go for jobs, infrastructure etc and it went for none of that. The fact that he cannot stop should come as no surprise. He is now even lying to try to cover up his lying! And, the hard core Kool Aid Junkies that continue to look at him with their starry-eyed infatuation still buy his nonsense because he and they know best and cannot stop loving him.

Yes, libs believe they know best for everyone. They always have. It is a significant part of what makes them tick. Whatever they do, whatever policies they want to pursue, whatever programs they want to put in place, no matter what they say it is for, the true purpose is always the same one. To make libs feel good. So they can convince themselves that they are the ones who care. The compassionate ones. The ones who are looking out for the ‘little people’ who most of them would not let inside their homes.

The good news is that it is finally becoming obvious and laid bare for all to see.

What a great contrast between Bush’s 42 “Read my lips, no new taxes” and Obama’s “If you like it, you can keep it”. The people in this country are so dumbdown that unless the MSM points things out for them, they’ll never see it. The elections in Virginia and New Jersey will show us if they know right from wrong. Electing more liberals is not the solution to the problem. By the way Obama lied!

    • Lc Goodfellow

Bush raised taxes as a way to reduce the national budget deficit. Bush refused many times but was making no progress with a Senate and House that was controlled by Democrats. Bush eventually agreed to a compromise with Congressional Democrats to raise several taxes as part of a 1990 budget agreement. Although technically there were no new taxes in this agreement.

Democratic ‘Blackmail’ for the good of the ‘Country’ ,? … hell no the ‘Party’ !

  • Ksp48

Its not that he lied; after all I knew it was a lie all the time. Its that he thinks I’m stupid enough to believe that he didn’t lie to my face. Who you gonna believe. Obama now or your own lying eyes, ears and video recorder.

  • Brhurdle

There is a characteristic that encompasses both traits – arrogance. Arrogance to not seek competent guidance in the complex task of governing when you have no idea how to proceed. Arrogance when you know you are making deceptive/misleading statements to a populace that will be harmed but not caring if it achieves your selfish objectives.

  • seriouslysickntired

Is he dishonest or clueless?Hmmm, do we really have to choose? How about all the above. That seems to be the best answer. He chose to LIE!!

  • allen goldberg

Dishonest with a purpose..Called FRAUD ..purposeful deceit!!!

    I vote for both.

    .
Bernie makes the classic error of composition suggesting that there is a choice between two alternatives when, in realty, Pres Obama is BOTH clueless and dishonest.

The magnitude of cluelessness is apparent in the incredibly inept development of the Obamacare website — this in a country which has brought through the same portal Amazon, Ebay, etc.

The magnitude of the lying is breathtaking — keep your plan, keep your doctor, lower your premiums, the website will work — and has long since drifted into ShamWow territory where in the ShamWowster in Chief has developed into a not very good pitchman who is hawking his wares with 800 numbers which do not work and Stone Age paper applications.

Meanwhile insurance companies are casting millions into the darkness naked and unprotected.

    Clueless & dishonest.

Amazon, EBAy etc. are private enterprises. They get something wrong it costs them money, maybe their jobs. Government gives the contract to an old friend of Michelle’s . They get it wrong, they get more money.

    • tb thomas

Thanks for saving me some typing time. I would simply add that the dishonesty is not passive, it’s predatory. This is a guy who despises the successful and self-sufficient among us. He believes he is entitled not only to lie to us, but to punish us for wanting to win and succeeding.

It’s not just Obamacare he’s lied about. His entire 2008 campaign was a fabric of lies designed to hook in voters like me (and Chris Buckley) who do believe in principled government, and generally assume that intelligent capable people don’t need or want to achieve success through fraud or deception. In my view, if I have to lie to achieve success, it’s self-defeating — I’m a loser right out of the gate, because I checked my self-respect at the gate.

To an all-consumed narcissist like Obama, the gratification comes from forcing those around him to acknowledge and accept his vision of success, no matter how disconnected it may be from empirical reality. This is a guy with no loyalties to anyone or anything but the black hole at the center of his personal universe: his massive but ever so fragile ego. That we as a country elected him as our President once was an egregious but forgivable error. That we did it again, after all we knew about who and what he really is, was a self-destructive and potentially lethal act of civic negligence, for which we may yet pay the ultimate price.

      • Ted Crawford

It seems to me that this is also a factor of the Establishment RNC! They gave us, first, McCain who was literally crushed in 2008! Then, as now, they completely ignored the fact that it was the Conservative arm of the Party, including the Tea Party contingent, that won the House in 2010, and gave us Romney in 2012!
Romney failed to win, in spite of the fact of the total debacle that was Obama’s first term! Once again McConnell, McCain, Rove, ETC. are fighting the Conservative arm! This time openly and even in the leftist media!
I’ve never really given much credit to the NWO’s, UNTILL now! The actions of the RNC, specifically Mc Connell, make it very, very hard to ignore the possibility that this is exactly the intent of the RNC.
The RNC has created two consecutive, massive loses, the Tea Party and Conservatives gave us the House! What part don’t they understand?

        • tb thomas

I share your concern. I don’t know what people mean by the word ‘conservative’ anymore — it means whatever they want it to mean. There’s the crony-capitalist segment of the Republican party, determined to hang on to their corrupt special-interest pay-to-play brand of politics (along with the entire Democrat party), then there’s the ‘evangelical religious fascist’ segment, who are just as eager to use the levers of government to force their ideological conceits down the throats of everyone else as their brethren on the Left.

We have a government which is being devoured by the gangrene of what I will call “crony-creditcardism”, something like crony-capitalism but, having exhausted all the earned capital, it’s fuelled by fiat Dollars. The peddlers of perpetually revolving credit and entitlements are terrorists, far more lethal to this country’s security and future than the comically inept Islamic losers who occasionally manage to blow something up or kill a few hundred of us at a time. And when this country’s economy collapses — as suddenly and unexpectedly as the WTC towers did on 9/11 — the mayhem and misery that will follow will be real enough, not only here, but around the world.

This is what failure looks like folks: the failure of an entire nation, and it’s gluttonous, greedy and disgracefully profligate citizens.

He lost because of all the ‘Yellow Journalist’

He lost because of all the little Obama, organizers that sat in their offices for 4, ( four years) collecting wages and names for fundraising.

Obama is both clueless and dishonest, and he has gotten away with being so all of his life. That is why he still has no idea what he is doing and if he does get caught, all he does is lie his way out or blame someone else.

    • worker1950

      Great post! You nailed it.

    • seriouslysickntired

I have said this before, I caught him telling the truth one time and he tried to lie his way out of it.

    • MarioG

What do you suppose the intellectually bankrupt people who voted for him are thinking now?

  • Kathie Ampela

Not only will this hurt the dems next year, there are only 6 seats in the Senate from a GOP takeback and in red states no less, and not only will Hillary be done in 2016 over this, if 129 million people have their health insurance cancelled/changed this will change the political system forever.(Change we can believe in, you betcha!) I predict term limits for Congress so a partisan supermajority could not jam something like this through again. Obama lied because he knew people wouldn’t want this law if they knew the truth. He had to lie to get it passed.

    • metheoldsarge

Don’t be too quick to write Hillary off just yet until we see who the Republican party puts up against her. Also, 2014 is a year away yet. A lot can happen in that time. Keep waking up America.

      • Ted Crawford

If the American Electorate fails to step up to the Plate in 2014, it will not matter, whatsoever, who is elected in 2016!

        • tb thomas

I’ve been pursing democratic due-process in this arena since 1992, and look what it’s gotten me. As far as I’m concerned, I’ve got one more fair fight in me, and if I don’t see some evidence of a revived national conscience in evidence on Nov 4th, 2014, I figure I have no choice but to start fighting the scumbags on their own terms.

A modern dark-age is right around the corner. Either we throw the Bolsheviks out 364 days from today, or jungle rules prevail.

” All effective actions require the passport of morality” ‘Rules For Radicals’ Saul Alinsky

    • MarioG

Kathie – don’t underestimate the extent of the dumbing down of America. When Obungler lied yet again at the St. Regis Hotel in DC just yesterday that he hadn’t lied the first 29 times, the liberal crown went wild.

Obama was elected in 2008 by affirmative action thinking even though he had nothing to do with slavery. He was re-elected by voters making less than $30K a year, who gave him a 7 million vote margin to protect all the free stuff they need to survive in this jobless economy. Voters making more than $30K a year gave Gov. Romney a 3 1/2 million vote margin. What we saw was one of the dumbest and most incompetent guys in America winning over one of the smartest and most competent.

If the dumb guy is as smart as his acolytes claim he is then he is causing all this mayhem deliberately, and Saul Alinsky must be smiling in his mausoleum.

      • Cosette

And Saul Alinsky is stuck in that mausoleum, wondering “why the hell can’t I get out of here?”

        • MarioG

Methinks Saul is now a “virgin” given to suicide bombers when they kill innocent men, women and children :-))

  • G. Daylan

Progressives are fond of telling us how smart their politicians are. Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, John Kerry and on and on are touted as great, brilliant thinkers by the slobbering media. However, when it comes to doing anything, these geniuses fail and then blame their failure on someone else. They particularly like to blame people that they have labelled as stupid (e.g. George Bush). So, is Obama incompetent or stupid? The answer that I come up with is BOTH.

  • D Parri

    “Millions of Americans…getting cancellation letters….”

Bernie, if you think that we are starting to see problems on the horizon, then I want to remind you of the title to a song from a group out of the 70’s and 80’s, a Canadian band by the name of Bachman-Turner Overdrive, and the #1 hit could be no more appropriate than right now…

    “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet”.

Now, just watch as his approval rating follows suit.

  • D Parri

Bernie, I think it all gets back to one singular motive concerning the individual who currently occupies the office of President of the United States of America. It is a hunger for power and control. Period.

I do not believe that Obama ever loads his mind with the concerns of millions of Americans regarding their personal income or finances. He could be no further from them when it comes time to make the decisions to pay for more insurance or to pay for ‘things’ that they might need.

The “bigger” picture can’t be cluttered with small stuff such as which plan to buy–i.e., ‘Bronze’, ‘Silver’, ‘Gold’, or ‘Platinum’, but rather how to effectively manipulate the entire country’s healthcare insurance industry into a governmental program that might later be fundamentally transformed into the exact model of socialized medicine that is the true goal. “Fundamentally transformed”, hmmmm….now that sounds familiar, doesn’t it?

  • D Parri

    Dishonest? Clueless? Liar?
    All of the above.

He has had many opportunities to correct a misleading statement. He did not.

He has had many opportunities to improve his image and his integrity simply by disclosing to the public information that was sought after in order to clarify the circumstances surrounding an event that was shrouded in secrecy. He did not.

He has needed to tell lies to explain his actions or the actions of others whom he is directly responsible for. He did.

    • Vivian

Everything you wrote is eye opening…
      Thank you,
      Vivian

      • D Parri

Contrary to what so many Obama supporters believe, I would like it much better if it weren’t true. However, he has continuously acted in ways that obviously contradicted his words. That has left him with the only assessment possible wherein, retrospectively, his actions have spoken much louder than his words.

  • EddieD_Boston

Why would he not lie? The MSM will never actually do its job and seek the truth. It makes it pretty easy to deceive when nobody will question what you say.

  • http://johndalybooks.com/ John Daly

    Dishonest politician. Clueless leader.

the administration was taking it’s cue from career politicians. “tell them anything
and then tell them something else.” when mediocrity is rewarded an inflated ego is created.

  • Tim Ned

They passed it and Obama and Pelosi still don’t know what’s in it. At first I believed he was lying as I assumed what everyone assumed, that President Obama was intelligent. Book smart might be a better description. I’m really questioning the intelligence of our commander in chief. What chef would cook a new recipe without knowing what’s in it before they served it to their customers.

Perhaps this is the real problem with liberals. The serve the meal and tell you it’s good!

  • JMax

Are those who claim there are “death panels” clueless or dishonest?

Are those who claim ACA requires doctors to ask questions about patients’ sex lives that they wouldn’t as a matter of course ask anyway clueless or dishonest?

Are those who claim that doctors asking patients if there are guns in their household is an attempt at gun control clueless or dishonest?

Are those who claim that coverage for a doctor discussing with older or very ill patients their health care directive options some form of euthanasia or “death panel” clueless or dishonest?

  • JMax

“If the federal exchanges really were better, Mr. Obama wouldn’t have
needed to outlaw the old product and compel everyone to buy the new,
    government-approved version.”

This is a non-sequitur. It displays a fundamental lack of understanding of health care insurance reform. The exchanges are not the product. The exchanges are a method of obtaining the product. The product is health care insurance.

    • Ted Crawford

WOW , I’d be impressed except for “Education is the crutch with which the foolish attack the wise, to prove they aren’t Idiots” Karl Kraus
The substance and intent of the post was abundantly clear and perfectly accurate!

    • Stimpy

No, the product is, as always for the libs, bigger and bigger government and fewer and fewer liberties. After all, we are too stupid to know what we need or want. Ain’t that right Comrade Obama?

      • JMax

        No.

  • Daniel

You all know whats going to happen next don’t you? As Obamacare fails they will start proclaiming what we really need is single payer. They won’t take the blame for the failure, that’s the Democrat way. It will be the nasty and mean insurance company’s and Republicans. Of course the media will back them up as usual.

  • Vince Ricardo

He’s both clueless AND dishonest. He’s clueless because, as anyone who paid attention to who the man is and what he has done (specifically, what he HASN’T done, really), he has been over his head since day one. He was over his head as a Senator and state rep, when it comes down to it. He’s dishonest because he can never admit that every single one of these failures is HIS fault, and just keeps trying to cover them up with lies and more lies. At this point, I wouldn’t trust this man to run a McDonald’s with any competence.

    • MarioG

Anyone who looked at his resume in 2007 would have seen that he wasn’t qualified to run a convenience store. I asked a prominent Jewish friend who voted for Obama if he would hire him to run his company and had to do a Heimlich on him as he choked on his sandwich :-)) The other question that has the same effect is to ask an Obamabot how they decide when to believe anything he says and when not to.

  • ErnieLane

I think he’s dishonest. He is doing just what he said — a fundamental transformation of America — and he doesn’t care who or what gets damaged, or how much, in the process. This is “The ends justify the means” on steroids. In particular, in this context, lying to the American people is seen as just fine and, in fact, necessary.

  • Seattle Sam

Of course the President lied. He could not have gotten the Health Care Act passed if he hadn’t.

    • Lc Goodfellow

I don’t care whether you are a Democrat, a Republican,
      a Conservative or a liberal,
be aware of the attitude and character of this sitting President.
