It maybe fortunate for Trump that the democrats threw Dean Phillips under the bus. I’ve watched a lot of his interviews and I’ve heard him in person. He may have the lucky inheritance, but he is one sharp individual. And he’s much more middle ground. I would’ve enjoyed watching what he could’ve done in the primary had been given a chance. And there’s no doubt he would beat Trump. On that note, John, good article.

Thanks. I found Phillips impressive as well. And yes, he would have beat Trump.

John, the backroom deals were already in place before anything was announced. The MSM almost immediately got onboard. There is nothing left to decide. From the Democrats, only a few liberals with integrity will say much about it. They will be quickly reined in by the Borg. Not surprised at all. And people wonder why there are conspiracy theories. It’s a sad state that politics in this country has become an industry. Once upon a time politicians were public servants and the press was the people’s protectors. I am sickened by both parties and have decided not to vote.

I suspect the Democrats will quickly unify around Harris, as they appear to be doing. I think after the Biden drama, they feel the urgency to unite around a new candidate quickly, and I think their natural identity politics instincts will prevent them from seriously considering giving Harris the boot.

My strong suspicion as well.

Let's be honest John. The Democratic Party will not push aside Harris. Bernie has stated this for a long time. Identity politics is king in that party and it will hold here. I can imagine the hell storm there would be if Harris was pushed aside for a white male. There still would be complaints if it was Whitmer.

I'm pretty confident (even more so than when I wrote the column) that they'll stick with Harris. The best play would have been to have effectively bribed her to step down as well (as I recently suggested). But with the whole party already coalescing around her, it appears that won't happen.

Unite around Kamala...more like O'Bama who is thoroughly enjoying his stint as " The Wizard of Oz"....or should I say " Lizard of Oz". Could he be thinking Vice President, just to frazzle the Constitutional Law? Or will he send in " Big Mike"?🍿🎪🍭
