God help the United States of America if Trump is the GOP nominee. I agree with you Mr. Daly when you state that Trump would likely lose the general election. In my opinion, because of his narcissistic behavior no one should support him. I did vote for the man twice but because of the chaos he created after losing to Biden I want him to go away.

The idea that anyone would still want him as the party's leader (let alone the president) after the 2020 election is beyond perverse to me. The appropriate measure would have been to impeach and convict him. Had that happened, all of this would have been over. He'd be out of the picture, the GOP would currently hold the Senate and a much stronger House majority, and Republicans would have a really great lineup of 2024 presidential candidates.

Dave, would you vote for Biden in place of Trump if Trump gets the nomination?

John should we really be worried about who kissed the royal rump of Trump? I have heard a lot of good conservative writers ponder this over and over again, but does anyone believe that a good conservative, and let's use our imagination, such as a Stephen Hayes could run and win the presidency? NIL! With the current electorate today, in my humble opinion it isn't happening.

This electorate has changed thanks to our higher education system and excellent left-wing marketing promoting Woke and other causes that sound so nice and sweet. The GOP has an uphill battle. Look at the Tea Party which I thought was a great ground roots movement. One accusation of spitting and using a derogatory word towards a sitting representative and the movement was destroyed. All it took was one person "perhaps" and the MSM had an effective message to destroy the movement.

I would love to see Nikki run and win. Without the Trump hinderance, it's possible. I believe there are 33 senate seats up for 2024 with 20 being democrat. That's a huge opportunity. And I don't believe a Trump candidacy would help winning seats as demonstrated in the last election. But I believe Nikki would be a great candidate and best for those Senate seats. She's my pick and if she's got to kiss some butt along the way, do it!

In terms of the 2024 primary, my point there is that Trump suck-ups are going to have a harder time presenting themselves as serious alternatives to Trump, if that's even their end-game (for some, I don't think it is).

>>but does anyone believe that a good conservative, and let's use our imagination, such as a Stephen Hayes could run and win the presidency?

Do I think a good conservative can win the presidency? Yes. I even think a good conservative can win the GOP nomination in this environment. Who can't win the nomination is any Republican (conservative, moderate, or whatever else) who was openly honest about Donald Trump over the past 7 years, while the rest of the party bowed at his altar.

The GOP's biggest obstacle to success isn't wokeness. It's Trump himself.

If Trump wasn't running, Nikki would at least have a shot at the nomination. But because he is, I don't think she has a prayer, and I think she knows that. Like I said, I suspect she's aiming for the VP spot, and will end up as an attack-dog for Trump.
