After a hearty gaffaw from the conservative Remnant ( thanks for the lend Jonah) allow me to thank you and all of the other truth seekers/tellers out there for giving us outlets through which to escape this insanity. Will there ever be a major straight news organization able to profitably operate in this nation? If so, I am fairly convinced that I certainly will not live to see it.
His Utmost Excellency, The Emperor, offers a bit of entertainment from when we were children. Try to imagine Donald Trump in the role of Danny Kaye, while Hannity, Carlson, Ingraham, Murdoch and the rest of the liars sing along In the chorus.
Why is it anyone who crosses Trump's path gets run over?
Secretaries, lawyers, assistances ,advisors ,Fox , cabinet members ,on and on. They all eventually get run over.
And then makes voter contributions his own piggy bank. He's no longer a Republican and the party continues to support him just in case he wins the Presidency. How in heavens name does this grifter -in-chief get away with it. He's making America look very bad.
I'd like to see you acknowledge that several top hosts and executives at Fox News were just thoroughly exposed for purposely spreading false, incredibly reckless information about a U.S. election (while reprimanding their reporters for telling the truth), purely for the purpose of ratings, that resulted in a nearly $800 million defamation settlement (the largest media settlement in history).
The suggestion that that is remotely comparable to anything CBS has been exposed for since perhaps Rathergate (which Bernie talked about exhaustively at the time) is a true testament to the power of blind partisanship.
<Former Fox News anchor Bill O’Reilly weighed in on the settlement, writing that, “This is what happens when money becomes more important than honest information. Since I left FNC [Fox News Channel], the template changed from ‘Fair and Balanced’ to ‘tell the audience what it wants to hear.’ And millions of Trump voters, to this day, want to believe the 2020 election was rigged.”>
Fox News has always been about ratings, more than journalism., at least since I began watching it - about 2002 The once richly talented maestro of Fox News - Roger Ailes, even admitted it, somewhat obliquely, when he once defensively said "I'm not in the politics business, I'm in the ratings business." Mr. Ailes saw a demographic that was alienated from the MSM and, in general, angry at national cultural shifts - aka future Trumpsters.
Mr. Ailes ensured that Fox News was balanced. The balanced was between good reporting, slanted reporting, good discussion and various degrees of viscous right-wight wing talk (not to mention titillation). Mr. O’Reilly’s show showed all of these factors. I think a lot of future Trumpsters were enamored by O'Reilly's volatility just as current Trumpsters are enamored by Trump's volatility.
But Fox News was obviously playing heavily to future Trumpsters. That could be seen by stories that were played up on Fox and by stories that were played in an endless loop.
The interesting question is how Mr. Ailes would have handled the situation with President Trump and the aftermath of the 2020 election. He may well have handled differently, but he certainly would have been in a trying situation. After all, Trump had been a cash cow and held sway over a corner or Fox News’ base. Just look at the difficult situation he was in with the aftermath of the Megan (sp?) Kelly/first Republican debate. How did he handle that?
Mr. Bias can just stop hating Trump and FoxNews. He certainly loved it when he was a featured guest. I have had enough and my next act is to unsubscribe.
Fox News was very different when Bernie was a featured guest. The network has gone down the toilet. Him pointing that out isn't the problem. What the network has reduced itself to is the problem.
Maybe you should look at their ratings, the only thing that has gone down the tubes is Bernie’s bias against another point of view. For 3 years all we heard from the mainstream media that Trump was a partner of Russia, where was Bernie? Should these networks be sued for their dishonesty? Crickets, Bernie??
You're kind of making Bernie's (and my) broader point here. Fox has sacrificed a lot of journalistic integrity in recent years purely for the sake of ratings. That's what brought on the Dominion lawsuit, as a matter of fact. People behind the scenes at Fox provably knew the "stolen election" stuff was nonsense, but they promoted the lies in their programming anyway because they were afraid of losing viewers to Newsmax and OANN.
>>For 3 years all we heard from the mainstream media that Trump was a partner of Russia, where was Bernie?
Where was Bernie? He was here, on this website, calling out those in the media who were doing it. If you don't believe me, use this website's search feature and confirm it yourself.
>>Should these networks be sued for their dishonesty? Crickets, Bernie??
You know what, though he's addressed this before, I'll go ahead and add this very question to tomorrow's Q&A for Bernie to answer. Sound good?

I suggest Fox find a new Pillow Guy. He’s next.
I’d like to see CBS mentioned as often as Fox. The dwell on Fox here is interesting. Isn’t that right, Leslie?

Irony can be pretty ironic.....
