The Western nations are the largest commercial markets in the world. It's time for a second Iron Curtain. Germany, from what they claim, has eliminated energy from Russia and the rest of Europe needs to follow. Let's call it an Economic Iron Curtain. The EU has plans to be independent of Russian oil by 2030. If the EU is in this fight, as they say they are, then they need pay the piper, sacrifice, and ban fossil fuel imports from Russia now.
The USA banned imports of oil but this needs to be broadened. Russian oil refined in other countries is still finding its way here. Turkey needs to own up to NATO protection and end their imports of Russian fossil fuels.
We also need to pressure other Russian allies who produce oil including Iran and Venezuela with not only boycotts but intercepting oil transports.
