Well said, John. Yes, it is enduring, and it is sad.

As usual you write what I believe. I’m so glad I found a common sense observer like you.

Hi John...here is my original post.

Great read. History would suggest politics has always been contentious but the megaphone of technology has put it in front of our face every hour of every day which I believe is the way brainwashing works.

"That a widow would feel as though she’s dishonoring her late husband’s memory by accepting words of comfort from a U.S. president of the opposition party is unfortunate to say the least, but it’s where we’re at as a nation. "

Possibly her late husband watched Bill O'Reilly's show. O'Reilly repeatedly says that President Biden doesn't care about "illegals invading our country," about families getting squeezed by inflation, about his policies destroying our nation etc. As I recall, O'Reilly even said that President Biden doesn't care about the girl who was raped and murdered by an illegal immigrant.

If I believed O'Reilly, I wouldn't want anything to do with President Biden. In fact, I'd probably hate him.

Back in the daze of the O'Reilly factor, O'Reilly implied - yes, implied! - that President Obama was intentionally trying to destroy our economy.

So much for fact-based analysis.

People within days of a personal tragedy such as this will say things that may seem inconceivable for others and even themselves to comprehend. I know and your state of mind is different at the time. If I was consulting President Biden, I would have advised him to make a press statement and send her a letter of condolence. Or at least wait a few days for the call. I think Trump waited a few days which was smart.

"My husband was a devout Republican"

When you substitute politics for religion, that's when you know you've gone off the deep end.

Sad indeed.
