I totally agree with the sentiment Bernie, and I believe Trump will be a victim of his own ego that prevents him from winning.

You're right his shtick has become both boring and predictable, and it only resonates with his rusted on MAGA groupies.

That's not enough to win an election unfortunately, but whoever is advising Donald is too cowardly to tell him.

It's also too late for a re-brand. So nothing's going to change with Trump in that regard. I guess that means the writing's on the wall and it's just a waiting game until Kamala Harris becomes the first female president of the USA!?

I hope so. But things could go awry for VP Harris. I hope her team is working on strengthening her weaknesses - via practice - and that she's receptive to it. From my limited exposure to VP Harris answering tough questions, it appears that she either gets her hackles up or she answers in circles. She cannot afford to do that in the debate or interviews. Her answers must be crisp, direct, reasonable and placing her in the best light. This is not rocket science, but generally politicians seem averse to the art of answering tough questions properly.

Trump, could possibly outperform VP Harris. When he debated Pres. Biden awhile back, Trump's demeanor was reasonable and he pretty much stuck to the issues presented. Much of what he said was false, but he wasn't fact checked in real time. And unfortunately, Trump is held to a different standard. If VP Harris said half the things Trump says, the press would be all over her and Trump would far surpass her.

I'm glad VP Harris has some Obama people on her campaign team.

I believe Bob in the south they are renaming Round-Abouts to Harris-Loops.

Anyways, from my standpoint I don't remember an election where one candidate doesn't know when to shut up and the other doesn't know what to say.

As my late brother would say Bernie, “I could not disagree with you less!”

Let him lose. Let him fail again. See if a second presidential loss in a row is defensible for his supporters. Good riddance. I’m all but depressed thinking about a President Harris, but the silver lining will be to permanently squash MAGA

The problem is it won't squash MAGA. Trump will simply claim that the election was stolen from him again, and his cult will believe him.

That’s true I suppose. Maybe some will finally wake up but it’s a long shot

I agree. The downside is he could take the senate and house down with him. Then it will be a disaster.

Like he did in 2020. He cares only about himself, if he loses, let the rest of the party lose too. Tucker Carlson said that very thing about Trump in texts

As an old school democrat I don't care if Trump is the meanest SOB on the planet, something has to be done to wake up our party plus he wasn't the worst president we ever had. He's got my vote only because the current democratic party has gone completely nuts.

No one believes you're a Democrat Vernon. A bot maybe, or a Republican but not a Democrat. Because a Democrat wouldn't vote for Trump.

My voting record would take issue with that. Democrats used to ask not what your country could do for you, but what you could do for the country.

Dreadful Donald Trump (DDT) is incapable of change. His unhinged and tone-deaf campaign is actually succeeding in kicking open the door for a Democratic ticket that embraces the concept of social anarchy. Do you see anyone in the GOP courageous, smart, and inspiring enough to lead this party back to its conservative core?

I don’t think Trump lacks for energy or courage, nor do I agree hat he is “boring.” But I agree that, particularly in the face of a relentlessly hostile, biased media, he needs to go forward with a more appealing and effective communication strategy if he is to save us from a Harris-Walz Administration. It can be as simple as taking cues from messaging that worked for others in the past: “It’s the economy, stupid;” “Are you better off now than you were during my “Presidency?” Despite his obvious flaws, he at least has a record of relative peace and prosperity—if he can manage to get that message through the barbed wire erected by the media, he can persuade enough voters in the “swing states” to eke out a win. But yes, he needs to be willing to listen to the right advisers if there’s any chance for this to happen.

Bernie, I suspect he DOES have advisors, perhaps many, who DO tell him things like, 'back off the personal attacks, focus on policy..." etc... The problem is he simply doesn't listen to them, or even if he does listen to and understand what they are telling him, once he gets out in front of an adoring crowd of his disciples, he simply cannot help himself but to go into his usual shtick to the delight of the MAGA crowd and the Democrats.

I wonder if Trump knows the national issues. He knows his interests but not sure he knows what the country needs.

Uh, he's written and talked a lot about Biden's dishonesty, especially in regard to Charlottesville.
