As the news over the past week or more has been split between the ongoing daily drama in the Middle East, and our ongoing daily budget struggle involving the Unions in 2 key states, I have to wonder. Have I ever seen this before ? I don’t want to bring up the chaos in Libya or the surrounding areas, because I do believe we have seen this before in that region, as in many other nation states through the ages, and I’m sure it’s not the last time either. Meanwhile, I’ll not be the first to argue that it is extremely important, as to how we focus on trying to keep a potential powder keg from igniting, but I wanted to, for the time being, keep an eye on the budget battles in the 2 States of Wisconsin and Indiana. It seems that in both States, the totality of the Democratic Senators have fled into neighboring States to avoid having to vote on the current budgets, which bring up the very real issues of the states being rather broke. These Fleebaggers, as they are being referred to on Twitter are now trying to phone in their votes from other states in an incredibly spineless act of cowardice. These quivering milkmaids that consider themselves to be the voices of the people are starting to give me both a headache and stomach ache personally. Watch the stammering and sputtering “speech” from the Wisconsin minority leader below to get a feel for the tactics being used. How bold of him !!! I really like the idea proposed below about how the Senators must be present to collect their paychecks.
I don’t know what is going through the minds of these absentee Senators. Do they really believe they are doing something noble by fleeing into another State? How is this not seen as a sign of weakness? It seems to me more like the act of everybody’s favorite Middle Eastern dictator turned fashion plate Muammar Qaddafi. I hope they’re not spending too much of their state’s tax dollars on expensive dinners, hotels and shopping excursions in nearby States in order to ease their troubled minds, before, dear god, they may have to go back to work to collect their paychecks at least. God help us all.
